What do you do on a dreary, rainy day?? You craft!! Oh, don't get me wrong I am lovin' it.....we needed rain in a desperate way. My plain Fall letters became fabulous Fall letters. I spray painted the sides of the letters with the color Brown Boots. I cut out my Fall letters from my scrapbook paper. I usually cut my letters a little smaller to let the color show around the sides but this time I just used spray adhesive and adhered the scrapbook paper to the letters. Once dry, I sanded the letters on the edges to cut the paper, making a smooth edge, and they fit the wooden letters exactly. I then watered down some dark brown paint and darkened the edges all around each letter. Then, I embellished them with some fall leaves and some leaf buttons. I found the leaf shaped buttons at Walmart and I just tied a piece of raffia through each one (be sure to click on the pictures to enlarge them) then hot glued them on.
These are in my kitchen area above those chalkboards I made. While I was looking at them I got the bright idea to tuck a couple of more leaves into the edges of the chalkboard....Cute?? I think so.
Here is a close up. I will probably put a couple of coats of Mod Podge on them to protect the paper and give them a harder finish.
Here is what I put in my two cloches at the moment....some bling pumpkins. They are quite sparkly. I also tied a big Fall leaf and a ribbon around the top of each one.
