Yep, I'm a Copy Cat......

It is official....I am a copy cat! Who did I copy cat?.....well, it was the talented Marie of Watch the Wind Blow By... when she made her cloches. You can see her post here. I absolutely LOVED this idea sooooooo I copy catted! They turned out so cute and they are very inexpensive. I will definitely be making more of these (looks like I should have wiped out the glass a little better before I took my pictures).

Here is what I spent:

  1. The glass candle holder (Walmart) were $1.97 each.

  2. The round wooden plate (Walmart) I spray painted black were .97 each.

  3. The small decorative glass candle holders (Goodwill) .49 each.

  4. The lamp finials (Lowes) were .19/.20 each. They had 7 left and I snatched them all.

  5. Under the first cloche I have a small glass pedestal (Walmart) .59.

So, the most expensive one was $4.22, yep you heard me right, $4.22! I absolutely LOVE them, so thanks again Marie for your creative thinking on how to make cloches when you can't find them. Now, I will be on the hunt for the perfect Fall items to display in them.

Hey I saw those on Marie's page also and yes I thought of doing the same so I guess I will be copycattin both of you...love those things...I was thinking of finding an ole chess game at a yard sale or something and use those pieces for the top...heck that is what I thought they were in the first place. You can tell I am not a Lowes girl...but I am learning.

I love them! And I can't believe how inexpensive they were to make. Even if you buy them at Michael's craft store, they are anywhere from 25 to 30 dollars, so this is a must-do project. I guess I will just be a copy-cat, too! :)

Have a wonderful Sunday night! :)

Hey Darlene,
Well, you sure didn't waste any time on grabbing that pumpkin from our Etsy store now did you~? Your comment had Mom and I laughing! So cute.
Lori did the same thing with the pumpkin watercolor painting my mom did. We put it on, she took it off!
I wanted to come by (not to give you a hard time) but to say thank you. I'll be shipping it out to you tomorrow!
Thanks Again, :)

Good Morning Miz Darlene,
What do you call it when you copy a copy cat? *smiles* This is a great idea and you did fab on it. I can't wait to see what you put in yours, this is the part where I struggle, finding things to put in other things. My poor apothocary jar is pathetic really, the contents are lousy. Regardless I'm still going to have to copy you *smiles*

Darlene,

The cloches turned out great! I've also copied Marie on some projects. She has great ideas. I could see a lot of people doing this project. I bet Lowes raises their prices on finials. They are probably wondering why everyone is buying them up so quickly. lol

Stop it! I'm not ready for fall yet. Can't I keep summer until the end of September?

Kimba said...

I love it! I saw your comments on Marie's post and had to come see how you did them.

Great job!

And it seems that my blog button is a little big for your blog. Some other people had the same problem. I resized the one that is in my giveaway post so if you want the new code you can grab it there.

Hi Darlene
I love those. I think I might copy cat you! I haven't read the instructions so I don't quite get how you do it but I think I'll blog on over and find out what to do. You can put so many neat things under there can't you...hmmmmm...giving me ideas.

Thank you for sharing a great project!
Hope you have a great evening.
