Cross Country Meet.....

Lexi had a cross country meet yesterday afternoon. I can only show a couple of pictures because I'm trying not to show her school name or her last name. But, this is right after taking off.....she is the first one with the blond ponytail.
There is a four wheeler that leads them around the course (in case you have never been to one). There were about four other schools participating in this race, and usually up to about 40 kids in each race, grouped by grade. There she is up and around the corner still in first place.
Guess what???? She WON the race....YEA!!! They run a mile and her time was 7 minutes 21 seconds. This is the second cross country meet they had this year, and in the first meet she came in 5th with a time of 7 minutes 30 seconds. She was determined to do better and I would say she did with a first place win!!!
Her first place medal was gold and the rest of the girls that received medals got silver.... Way to go Lexi!!!

I love the back of their shirts, they say:

SUCCESS:

Don't just wish for it,

WORK FOR IT!!

Both my kids ran cross country! My son LOVES running as much as he loves the weather (he's studying to be a meteorologist). It takes a lot of training and eating right, and don't forget the right shoes! With her times now she is sure to do well in high school! Congrats Lexi!

Darlene,
Know you're so proud of your little gal Lexi! I didn't realize there was competitive cross country for kids her age, how cool! Who knows, this may lead to a college scholarship in about 8 years. :>)

Great job Lexi! Way to go!
I know mom and dad are proud!.

Darlene,
I loved going to all the functions my daughter was involved in. She cheered for 6 years and I was all into it...plus band and then other things...I miss it cause my son is total opposite...loves playing mud bogging and nothing to do with school. Thank goodness he does make good grades. Still have a ways to go with my Lexi.

Enjoy it because it goes by so fast Darlene. She is a doll!

Great job...way to go! We have something like this where we live...it is a huge event! The first year Courtney ran...not one of the hundreds of parents that were there, other than me, followed directions...they crowded in on the winners as they came in and Courtney was lost for about 30-40 minutes. She hasn't run since :0(

Darlene & Lexi,

Way to go Lexi and First Place too!

Your Mom probably knows the only way I could win a race with you is if they were having a 75% off sale at Hobby Lobby.

Enjoy your victory.

Congrats, Lexi! That's fantastic. I think my youngest is built for Cross Country, so I'm looking forward to that when she's older. Lexi had a great time too. Do you have a natural born runner on your hands?

Wow! I'm really impressed! Way to go Lexi! My thighs are burning just thinking about running cross country. I'm not an athlete, over here if you can't tell! Ha!
