Pumpkin Carving Time....

See all of these pumpkins? There are 9 of them, one is kind of hidden at the back. Guess how much I paid? Now don't hate me.......they were 25 cents each! I stopped by our local garden shop because they always have huge crates of them and we were going to carve them, and they are trying to get rid of them, so 25 cents each.......
Let the fun begin!
Lexi and her daddy carving away.
Here they are with their masterpieces. Lexi did the classic pumpkin face while Alan/daddy did a spooky house.
Aren't they scary?

I guess we are going to have to carve our pumpkins tonight!! Tim will want his to be scary. With luck I can just get the basic face. Lexi's is far superior to my abilities. The spooky house is just out of my range all together LOL!

The look great!!!!

take care,
Dawn

Wow, your timing was great getting all those pumpkins. I love seeing the jack-o-lanterns all lit up. Pumpking carving has become a real art over the last ten years. I hope that you decided to roast those pumpkin seeds--yum!

Good deal on the pumpkins! Are you going to carve them all? I saw a house that had over a hundred carved pumpkins in their yard all lit up. It was very cool

Have a safe, fun trick-or-treat night ~

I only hate you a little, for your 25 cent pumpkins! The finished project is darling!! My husband just helped the kids carve 2 nights ago, I love the time spent together most of all. I have loved reading all your halloween entries! Too cute!

Is it just me or have the Stephenie Meyer books just not "caught on" here in Oklahoma? I am among the land of the living today since I haven't gotten the 3rd book yet. I just finished the 2nd, beware...it is slow but worth the last 2 or 3 chapters. Smiles, Paula (by the way being "sucked in" is a great way of putting it..people warned me, but I wouldn't listen ha ha)

Whoa - y'all are too fancy for us.
Ours look pitiful compared to that artistry.
Good job.

I am in Shawnee just SE of OKC. I have been getting my books from my daughter's friend (she is 10) so needless to say my husband and older kids just don't get it. They think that I am reading some "teeny bopper" book. I have tried to convince my 18 yr old daughter to read it but she just rolls her eyes. I was warned that I would develop a "crush" on Edward and needless to say I did! It's all just so embarrassing! At least at the movie premier I will look like I am just taking my daughter and her friends ha ha. Smiles, Paula

Darlene, these turned out great. We haven't carved any this year, not sure why. I love your designs. And on your other post that little harvest couple is soooo adorable, and I didn't see any dust ANYWHERE!
Blessings,
Deb

I saw previews for the movie and that really captured my attention. I think my step-daughter has the books.

One of the things I just love about Lexi is that she always looks like she is having a great time no matter what she is doing...What a gift you have with that daughter of yours Darlene!
The pumpkins look really FANTASTIC!

BTW: Thank you for your wonderful compliment about the lighted grapevine pumpkin I sent you. You really did do a great job at fluffing that bow back up after shipping! I'm not sure I'm going to be able to come up with anything for Christmas but will try! :)
Have a great weekend...We are going back to Spokane to see our Grandsons!

I wish I had those good carvers at my house. I go with the clay pumpkins so I don't have to worry about carving them.

I think I enjoy giving out candy as much as the kids enjoy getting the bags of treats I give out.

I always used to tell my kids the Nestle Crunch bars were tainted so I got to test them.
