Stuff and Strike-Outs......

Yesterday I had to go grocery shopping....am I the only one that HATES to go? I would just about do anything else besides go grocery shopping and this is just a small amount of all the bags. Look at my nosy critters.....lol

When I got home though, I had a wonderful surprise on my doorstep. Here is nosy again!
This was from my blogging friend Katie, of Blessed by 3 Miracles. She saw my post about my two smaller candle holders (right now pumpkin holders) and she found a larger one at her Kohl's and sent it to me. She is absolutely the sweetest person and I always enjoy "talking" with her. Her family is just precious too....go by and visit her. Thanks so much Katie!
As you can see they have already been rearranged a couple of times. They are sooooo cute I keep moving them trying to put them in their perfect spot!
Last, let's all learn how to do strike outs okay? I was trying and trying to figure out how to do strike outs and saw that Duchess from The Daily Adventures of Four Ed's knew how, so I asked her how to do it. It is really simple and I have had several of you asking so let's learn.

Just compose your post as you normally would and when you get to the word(s) you want to strike out, click on the Edit Html tab at the top right hand corner of this window. It will bring up a typewriter style page. Go down to the word(s) and make it look like this: < s > word < / s > (but without all the spaces, I had to use the spaces for the purpose of showing you)

Then just click on the Compose tab (next to Edit Html) and it will show up with a line through it and you just finish your post. It is so much fun to use....try it.

Again, thank you so much Duchess. I want everyone go by and give her some bloggy love for teaching us how to do this!

Good Morning Miz Darlene,
What a sweet surprise! I love those little glass house thingys *smiles* You said you got them at Kohl's? Mmmmm, Kohl's is in the shopping center with my store, I might have to sneak in there! LOL Have a wonderful day and dare I think I'm the first poster this morning?

I hate grocery shopping too. It has gotten easier for me with the self scanners. When I get home with the groceries it is the "men folk" who have the job of unloading the car and putting the groceries away!

What a very sweet friend to send the candle holder to you. Those are the kind of stories that make you smile. We need to hear more stories of kindness!

I like using strike outs. I think I do it a bit differently (a different code) but it is essentially the same as you shared. I love learning new computer tricks!

take care,
Dawn

Grocery shopping is a chore isn't it!

I have to go grocery shopping today, and I DON'T WANT TO! Do you think it's because we go to Walmart? I hate that store, but I have to shop there because all the grocery stores are so much more expensive!

I HAVE to get to my Kohl's to see if they have any of those candle holders. I love those!

Darlene, I always though your strike outs were so funny. thanks for the lesson.

I too hate grocery shopping. The biggest reason is when you get home you have to put it away. I hate that even more. smile. Lets not even talk about how the cost has gone sky high. sigh. With all the company we have it is BIG!

How sweet that Katie was so thoughtful. Your grouping is now complete. Three in a group is a rule, right? I love them.

Hugs...Jeanne

Oh how sweet Darlene for Katie to send that to you. There really are some wonderful ladies on this site and I am so glad I have come across this place for these new friendships I am making.

Thanks for the strikout info, I wonder how this was done. Just copied and pasted this info in my other info about this site.
Now how about telling me how you put the website and then some how put the actual page name on that. I still have not figured that out.

Yep my cats love to get right in the middle of my grocery. You'd think something all the bags were for them but usually just one. hehehe

Have a good day!

What a nice friend you have. I would love to find one just cant find the time to drive to Baton Rouge. When I do I will sure hunt one down.
I too hate to go grocery shopping. Our Walmart here is not that great and it seems its getting worse after the storms... Just cant find people that want to work. I just make a list and my husband goes for me.... I still have to go for odds and ends but he takes on the big chore... I love that man!

I hate BRINGING THE GROCERIES IN AND PUTTING THEM AWAY! It's sorta like unloading a dishwasher...I'm glad you did the post on strike outs because you helped me when I wanted to know how to do this and others might not be as bold as I am about asking for help. Thanks so much!

Found your site recently and enjoy looking at all your fall decorating. Cute!

You don't even have to go over into the html area to do the strikeouts. You can put it straight into your post you are typing. When you click on preview, you'll see it there with the line through it. I don't like going into that html thing if I don't have to. It has other funny things in it I'm afraid I'll goof up.

Howdy! Wow, that's a lot of groceries! I hope you had help putting them all away!

I love the big glass house, it looks perfect next to the 2 little ones! And thanks for telling us how to do strikeouts. I always wondered but never thought to ask.

By the way, Windows LiveWriter actually has a button you can click on to strike out whatever you words you highlight. It's just like using the bold or itallics button. So easy!

I didn't mind grocery shopping years ago when I had babies that ate nothing but breastmilk. Now they want FOOD and they want a lot of it! The nerve! And it was a lot more fun buying food when I was eating what I wanted. On a diet? Not so much fun.

CUTE candle holder at Kohls! Oh I wish Kohls was about 40 miles closer to my house. :o) Or maybe it's a good thing everything is so far away?

And thanks for the strike thru tutorial!!

Darlene,

I'm so lucky. My husband does the grocery shopping. He even makes out the list. Bad news, he doesn't buy anything if it's not on the list. No snacks, no treats, nothin. But it's worth it. I just make a quick run for the fun stuff, especially when the grandkids come over.

I don't mind grocery shopping, but I am terrible at it. Lucky for me...my husband is a grocery store manager!
