The Curious Kitten....

This could be an interesting Christmas with a kitten. Midnight went to the vet on Friday and got tested for feline leukemia, since that was negative (thank goodness) she got her shots and a check up. The vet says she is approx. 14 weeks old. It is going fairly well with introducing her to the inside animals. Here is the curious kitten in my box while I was taking down all of my Fall pretties.
Then she had to play in the basket of Lexi's magazines.
She helped me unload the dishwasher.
Then we got down our boxes of Christmas decorations.
She had to explore all of those.
She also has been in the tree, climbing it, more times than I can tell you.
When you haven't had a kitten in a while, you forget how curious they are. Wish us luck!!!
You will still have to wait for the project hubby built. It was windy all weekend so we couldn't get it painted. As soon as we get it painted, I will show you and tell you what it is.

Morning, Darlene!

Loved your pictures, as always! Your new kitty is quite the curious one, huh? I can't believe she climbed into your Christmas tree! Hopefully, she won't do that when you get it all decorated!

Happy Monday!!

Darlene, your kitten is adorable. You won't believe this but I saw a stray kitten Saturday that has haunted me ever since. I have never had a cat as I am a dog person but I wanted that kitten. She had four little boot white feet and a face that just grabbed me. We left her there and I am beside myself now. SIGH! Your cute post just brought it all back.

I am looking forward to your surprise construction. Get it painted girl. smile

Hugs...Jeanne

Good Morning Miz Darlene,
Midnight is so cute! We have a very curious kitten here too, Indy's latest trick is to climb up my leg and back and hang out on my shoulder while I'm doing dishes. We've never had a kitten before, just cats so we're learning very quickly how fearless and curious these little guys are!

I've tried to start uploading my tree fluffing pictures but ran into techno difficulties, hopefully soon I can work on that tutorial although it's very very simple and you are probably doing it already *smiles*
Have a wonderfully blessed week!
P.S. Did the Dad make it home to GA safe and sound?

I see that the dog is keeping close watch on her.

oh my, my mom's 2 cats are like that and have not outgrown it! She doesn't even do a tree anymore due to that. They are quite a handful. Like having 2 year olds in the house. How are the other animals liking her?

CatHerder said...

oh she is so adorable...I wonder if she will climb the tree and stick her head out of the top limbs like a bat (like my salem did when he was a kitten)...im sure you know this already, but be careful with tinsel..little ones (and big ones for that matter) like to chew it..if they swallow it, it can get tangled in their intestines causing death. Its going to be so exciting having a "new addition to the family" for Christmas! Have a happy Thanksgiving.

Silly kitten! Must make it fun for you though. I can't wait to see what your hubby built for you. I am getting curiouser and curiouser.

OH! She reminds me so much of my Boo when we first got him. Just a black ball of mischief. He's fat and lazy now, but still full of mischief. He actually makes an appearance in my post today, but thankfully he is too big to climb Christmas trees now. :)

Oh she is a cutie...glad all went well at the vet and enjoy all the antics she will be in during the holidays. I can remember when ours was climbing in the tree...she would take naps there. Thought it was so neat to see her sleeping in the middle of the tree.

My cat climbs the Christmas tree every year, and she's no longer a kitten! She breaks at least one ornament a year too, but then again, so do I. ;~)
Can't wait to see what you've been up to!

Wow, she is curious!! I hope she doesn't pull your tree down. (that happened one time to us when we were little because a cat climbed up it)!!

Hey Darlene,

My cat is getting in the way of my C-mas decorating. She sure loves the tree.

I just finished watching Twilight. I liked it. I thought they followed the book closely and you could feel the chemistry between Bella & Edward. There were parts that were terrible though. I thought they made Jasper a freak...which is very disappointing. They also used too much make-up sometimes. It would have been more convincing without it. Otherwise, I liked it and would see it again. Did you see it again?

Little kitties are such fun- full of mischief, though! Good luck with your Christmas tree and the ornaments- lol! It's almost like they think each and every ornament is their personal toy and the tree is their home.:) Lori

Hi Darlene--love seeing your pictures of Midnight! My Oliver climbed the Christmas tree his first year, and the last two, he selectively took ornaments off the tree and batted them around the house. Last year in frustration I put my vacuum cleaner under the tree with a long extension cord and when Oliver approached the tree, I plugged in the extension cord in the next room and the vaccum came roaring to life--I wish I had a video of him as he flew from the room! A couple of times doing that kept him away from the tree for most of the season!

Oh Darlene, The kitty is so cute! Make sure you don't put in little birdies on your Christmas Tree or the kitty will really have a fit! I know this from expirence...LOL some how they don't realize those are not real birds....:) Nancy

Hooray Darlene, you DO have a new little kitty!! I wondered whether you would keep the poor cutie and you did.
I'm glad he tested great at the vets and now you are going to have some fun. Looks like he likes to get into most everything...and you have to change your profile and add a new member to your family pics.
HAve fun!

She is so cute! When I was little, our kitten climbed up the tree and wouldn't come out so we (well, my mom) had to undecorate part of it to get the kitten out.

Your pictures bring back memories...when I was younger we awoke more than once to the tree falling over because a very curios kitty decided to climb it.

How precious! She looks like she is having some fun! *smiles*

Good Luck with the tree. I know that we have a ferret and we used to let her run free when she was younger. Christmas was the worst time because she would climb the tree and go for my bell ornaments. We would be in another room and hear the bells and know that she was in that tree!

Oh, Midnight is a major cutie-pie! Twiggy was older than Midnight when I brought her home this summer, but she was still very kitteny! I hadn't had a kitten in many, many years (we got Frankie when he was four--so he'd outgrown that wild baby kitty stage), so it was a real shock to adjust to that. She is such a joy, as I know Midnight is to you guys! Those little "found" babes turn out to be the best ones! (usually!)
I hope your TGiving is wonderful--I know you have lots of blessings to the thankful for!
