A Few Decorations in my Parent's Oklahoma Home....

I bet all of you have thought when my parents came to visit us in Oklahoma they stayed with us, right? Wrong! My parents have their own home on the same street as us, but just around the corner....easily within walking distance. They bought the home as their retirement home and it has been totally remodeled, but they have not retired yet. I do hope they retire soon. I can't wait to have them living here and out of Houston. Anyway, here are just a few of the decorations in the house right now. This is on their coffee table.
Remember the homemade cloche's Marie made here? Well, my mom saw mine that I copied and she wanted some too. I thought hers turned out great! The tops of these are little bud vases....cute aren't they?!?
Here are my mom's apothecary jars. She loved the little bling jewels, acorns and pumpkins I had in mine, so I got her the same thing.
Here is their mantle. Isn't that big clock BEAUTIFUL? We also filled a large apothecary jar with pumpkins and gourds.
When they come in for Thanksgiving we will be decorating her home for Christmas. She already has a tree and some ornaments here. They bring more and more things for their home each trip they make.

Hi Darlene, I've left you a book tag, stop by to get it!

How neat that your parents have a home on your street--and it's so beautifully decorated too! How often do they come to visit, and when to they plan to retire? All my family lives far away, and I wish they were closer!

Good Morning Miz Darlene,
How wonderful to still have your parents and to know that soon they will be just around the corner from you! And the added bonus of having two homes to decorate *sigh* some people just have all the luck *smiles* Do you think they will retire soon?

Love all the fall pretties and can't wait to see what you do with Christmas decorations!

Hi Darlene,

I can't imagine how great it must be to have your parents so close by! Though my parents are gone now, they lived a 9+ hours from us and that was too far away. Enjoy it while you can!

Their decoarations are so pretty, so I can only imagine what their entire house must look like!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Morning, Darlene! That's so very nice that your folks have a house just around the corner to stay in when they come to visit. It's good it's so close and you can keep a check on it. Now her falleness is so lovely and a little of the reason is her lovely daughter!! ;)
Her little cloches are darling. I've just got to do this.
How is little Lucy this morning?
Thanks for coming by to the SIT Party.
Have a beautiful weekend.

Good Morning Darlene
That’s a great idea that your parents have their retirement home and it sounds like it’s a great idea that its around the corner from you too. Sometimes that doesn’t work for some people but how great for you. The mantle is lovely and the decorations are so nice. Where does everyone get those lovely cloche’s from? I would like to get one too but can’t find any around this neck of the woods it seems.
You’ve got Christmas all worked out too…it is coming along isn’t it?
Have a great day Darlene.

Yes, I did think your parents stayed with you...I had NO idea they have a house by you! Are you blessed or what? I would love to live by my Mom again. We used to craft together and put on crafts shows out of our houses. I really miss those days! Maybe someday.
Thanks for showing your mom's wonderful decor-I do love that clock! Have fun at Thanksgiving!

How fun to have them right around the corner! I wish my parents would move to our town. They are both "retired" but can't seem to make the move. :) I can understand though living in the same town since they were in elementary school. Anyways-I love all of her decorations!! That clock is gorgeous!

Wow, such nice decorations in your parents house. It will be so nice to have them close to you. My parents are about a 1/2 hour away. But my kids are out of state, so that makes us the long distance parents and grandparents. Wish we were closer to them.
