The Kitchen Tree....

We have had this tree for a couple of years and usually have it outside, but it seems to constantly get blown over in these Oklahoma winds. So, this year I decided to put it in the kitchen by the back door. With the Midnight terror I have just put candy canes and paper tags on it. I saw some plastic sugared candy cane pieces at Hobby Lobby today and I think I am going to go back and get those and just put them all over the tree. That way nothing can get broken.
Even with this tree not decorated very well, I just love seeing the pretty lights reflected in the china cabinet. It just looks magical......
Hope you are having a wonderful Thursday. Can you believe there is only a week left?

Good morning Darlene! This is a great spot for that little tree. I agree with you about the magic of the lights--that's one of my favorite things about Christmas is how pretty the lights look at night--it's very peaceful to me.

That is very pretty lit up and reflecting off the glass of the cabinet. I love just sitting and looking at the light of the tree. There is something very peaceful about doing that.

take care,
Dawn

I love that little tree. Sometimes those are the best ones during the holidays. My mom used to have little ones like that in my room and my sister's rooms, and we LOVED them.

I love the way Christmas lights make a room look! Wish we could have them around all year long. I guess it wouldn't be as magical if you could see it everyday! Merry Christmas ~

I cannot believe there is only a week left! Your tree looks great! I really want to put a tree in our kitchen but it just would not work...it is too close to the main tree. I'll have to figure something out! :)

How sweet. I like to get metal bells, or just plain jingle bells to put on a tree the kitties might be tempted to play with. The bells act as an audible alarm, so you know when kitty is at/in the tree!

Love the tree. Notice your poodle. I used to have one. Boy did I love her. She lived to about fourteen years old, and I was heartbroken when she died. It took me ten years to get another dog. Poodles can really be sweet dogs.

Hi Darlene
Yes I agree the reflections of the lights look magical.

Hi! I saw you post over at Rebel's blog. Hope you aren't too sore from your fall - ouch!

I think your tree is beautiful and is in a perfect spot. I usually make two little trees using tomato cages for outside the sides of my front door, but never got around to it this year. Christmas has snuck up on me too I guess.

I have cats too so I know what you mean - they love to climb the Christmas tree - but I have to say that I am in love with your poodles!!! That apricot one makes me want one so bad.

Someday you need to do a post where you show us, with pictures, WHERE exactly you store all of your decorations. I think I have storage envy and I haven't even seen those pictures yet.

Hi Darlene!
Whew! I have been decorating allll day and night---still have hours to go....it'll be a late night.
LOVE that sweet tree by the hutch. So you're calling that sweet little kitty the Midnight Terror now!! My little Twiggy has been with me every step of the way during the decorating process--so far, she stops when I say "no"---we'll see how long that lasts!
Lexi was a darling Diva in her show--I do miss those days!!
It's freezing rain here in KC, but the worse is over--I hope so.
