More Midnight.....

I have been threatening to put Midnight back in the tree I found her in!! She is into EVERYTHING! This is a favorite toy....it is a plastic holder that a bunch of ornaments were in. She plays away in it.
She also hides and jumps out at Tangie....Tangie is not pleased with this behavior.
Occasionally, they can sit together in the window. Tangie is starting to get used to her, she doesn't just hiss and run away anymore.
Yep, this is her favorite spot in the tree. She is laying in the branches about two feet from the top! I'm just about ready to take the tree down.
She was also quite a help when I was trying to wrap presents.
But then there are these times that you just have to say awwwwww. Lucy and Midnight are the best of friends.
They were sound asleep.
Here are three of them sleeping. Many times now they are all touching....sound asleep.
I can't wait till she is out of the wild kitten stage. Many people like kittens, but I like cats!

I can't believe that Midnight gets up in your Christmas tree like that! Abby will love that picture! I know that kittens can be a handful...so can puppies! Like you, they're so cute, but I prefer them more when they're out of the stage when they're not into anything and everything!

omg so funny. I have pics of Salem when he was a kitten (unfortunately taken before digital cameras) He is in the tree all the way at the top popping his head out like a bat. He used to climb on top of the curtain rods and sit as well (he is way too big for that now)..he would get into EVERYTHING. When he was a kitten hubby and i were COVERED with scratches, he would attack us while we were sleeping! ps. love the plastic tube..its like a kitty ship in a bottle

Oh Darlene, this is such a funny post! The first year we had Oliver I took my tree down the day after Christmas because I was so tired of his antics. The bottom half of the tree was bare of ornaments because he had pulled them all off along with half the lights! I have two other cats who are older, but never have I had one that has created so much havoc. Ollie is calmer now at age 3-1/2, but he is still everywhere and into everything! We found him abandoned outdoors too, and I think that those orphaned kittens just must have more spunk--they need it to survive!

It is fun to see that your other furry family members have accepted Midnight.

Darlene, these are the cutest pics ever, I love the tree photo. Midnight looks totally comfortable.LOL. Those three fur balls really love each other. Thank you for sharing the fur balls with us today.

Christmas love, Jeanne

That picture of her in the tree is just priceless! And the one of her and Lucy wrapped up is SO sweet! I wish my dogs would get along like yours do. Windi and Shadow do NOT like Jonathan. It doesn't help he's twice as big as they are!

Good Morning! What a crack up...she is like a mischievous elf...ho, ho, ho! I have a friend that just got a new kitten and was wondering if when they get their tree this weekend...if the cat would leave the tree alone....I told her to check out your blog.
Your pics are great...I am laughing out loud!

Have a great weekend...I love your Santas...you have such a delightful collection.

Oh my gosh! How cute are Lucy and Midnight?! That is so sweet. Can't believe your tree hasn't toppled over yet! You must have it secured somehow?! That is one crazy cat!!!

Hahaha, I was dying laughing at this!! I love when kittens hide and wiggle their butts and spring out at whoever walks by. So funny! Midnight is adorable, and it's nice to see the other pets adjusting!

We rescued a kitty a few months ago - he is 5 months old and into everything - hence, no tree this year! I laughed at the picture of him in the tree because I knew that was what Newman would do! Love the picture of everyone sleeping together - nothing sweeter than sleeping pets!

Karen said...

oh dear, my mom's cats are now 2 1/2 and STILL in that wild kitten stage.

Shannon said...

She is a mess! But cute! I have never been around cats or kittens so I had no idea they were into everything like this! The sleeping pictures were really cute!

She is the cutest thing ever! I know it's frustrating now, but you'll look back on these antics and laugh.

Darlene .. she is just precious with Lucy and funny with Tangie !
Hang in there girl ..
Emma is not a year yet .. she will be mid January (and she is as big as Sophie !!) with fur tufts that come out of her paws : )
Midnight will take a little while to behave .. but she is a beauty even when naughty ? haha
I love the picture of her in the tree .. she has a real connection with that doesn't she ? LOL
When will you have her spayed ? .. I think it is usually the 6 month ? .. Emma had a "heat" prematurely and her operation was a little more involved because of .. I hope Midnight holds on for you with that .. she is gorgeous !

I laughed our loud at these. I want that cat. It looks like her and Lauren on the same wave length. I can't wait to get past toddlerhood. That kitten is adorable!!

JuJu and Family said...

That is too funny. I remember my kitten loved bags of anykind, especially brown paper ones. i think because they are the loudest. Also, if you try that cioppino recipe, make sure you have a good crusty bread to dip into the broth. Take care!

Once she grows up, you'll remember all these cute kitten charms. As they say, don't be in a hurry for her to grow up, it will happen all too soon.

I miss not having a kitty. I love kittens. That picture of Midnight in the tree cracks me up. I'm sure it wouldn't if it were my tree :)

I'm sure Tangie can't wait till Midnight is out of the kitty stage too! I was watching a old taped show of Martha Stewarts yesterday. She tied her ornaments to the tree branch with wire to kitty proof her tree! Midnight might be a pain but she really is supper cute Darlene!

Surprised she doesn't knock the tree over, climbing into it. The picture of all of them together sleeping is so cute, and the one looking out the window..ahhh.

You are not alone! Our "Princess" likes to lay about 2 feet from the top too! She also has to knock down all the ornaments and bead garland from that area so she can watch what goes on in the house. This year I am not putting our tree up until the Saturday before Christmas and it's coming down the Saturday after....thanks to Princess. She also has a brother this year. He's a year older since we adopted him from the Humane Society so with the two of them I'm afraid it will be twice the trouble. Here is some pics from what she did last year.

P.S. She is a cutey though!

Good Morning Miz Darlene,
OMGosh I thought I was seeing pictures of Indy on your blog except for the decorated house it's the same scene here! He's a wild thang tearing thru the house, climbing the tree, peeking at me with those beautiful eyes then nipping and scratching me if I pick him up! I've never had a kitten before, only mature cats so this is quite a challenge to say the least and Miss Sissy doesn't like him one bit! Not at all! Every few minutes it's a cat fight here, she's huge and he's such a little bit of black fluff but he won't leave her alone! I feel I live in a circus. *smiles*

Your tree is beautiful....of course the rest of your decorations are too. I'm not talking about mine. *sigh*

Midnight is a beautiful little kitty. Have patience and she will grow out of it. (Maybe)

We have had a NEW pre-lit tree for a few years and have not had the nerve to put it up with our huge cat, Bubba. He eats wires and everything he can get hold of - rubber bands are banned in our home - so we know he would chew up and swallow our tree, so we don't put it up yet. Bubba will be 7 in June, 2009, so I give up on him "growing out of it!"

Have fun!

Midnight is beautiful!! I'm with you--I like kittens but I love cats!! The picture with Midnight in the plastic tube is hysterical, and I love those big amber eyes staring out at you from the Christmas tree!

OMG, I just about hurt myself laughing at that "cute" little Midnight peeking from INSIDE the Christmas tree!!! You certainly captured some great (and not so great!) moments with her! We just put BOTH of our real trees in their stands. Twiggy has sniffed and sniffed until she made herself dizzy. It will be a kitty challenge with her, I'm sure! Can you believe I don't have those trees decorated? Gads! My last sale was a week later than usual and it just totally messed my schedule up. As my Hubs and I were about to come to blows at getting the tree we chopped down in the stand I think we decided to give serious consideration to artificial! This one is very HEAVY and the trunk is very crooked---quite the tree challenge! I'm gonna let the limbs settle down and put the lights on it tomorrow. Loved all of your great Santas, too!!!
I don't have an etsy shop, but I plan to sell some of the things I make and also the patterns to many of them on the web---I make up the designs to most of the items I make. That will be my "after Christmas" project!
It dropped 40 degrees here this afternoon! We're supposed to be getting some bad stuff tomorrow! YUK!
Take care and hug those little sweet critters! Dana
