Our Tree....

I thought I would show you a picture of our tree. I don't have as many ornaments on it as I should because of the kitten. She has that tree constantly shaking. I am hoping to find some of those sparkly swirls to poke in through out the tree.
We can't keep our light strands doing the same function. So one strand might be blinking, one fading in and out and one on, etc. Not too bad in person, just hard to capture in pictures.
Here is a Santa ornament I painted back in 1990.
Here is an angel I made.
We are hoping to find a slim, pre-lit tree this year to take the place of this one. It is really fat at the bottom and we have it shoved back in that corner. Don't look too closely at the bottom. The kitten has been reeking havoc with the red beaded strands.

Good Morning Miz Darlene,
I think your tree is beautiful! And I totally relate to the shaking of the tree, lol, we've just put ours up and I am getting ready to fluff the branches before we do the ornaments and I've had to get Indy out of the branches twice now this morning. Bad Kitty!

Good morning Darlene! Your tree looks beautiful even with Midnight's mischief. I can relate to the shaking--ours looks like it's in an earthquake sometimes! I guess it's just too hard for cats to resist! Our tree is in a corner, and years ago we started tying it to a hook on our molding! It has fallen down at least once over the years though....

Oh my I am so envious of your painting ability. I want so badly to be able to paint like that!!! Your Santa is just gorgeous!!!!!! Your tree looks lovely. My tree looks laking in ornaments this year too. I don't know why! The kitten must be a challenge with the tree in the house :)

I have something for you on my blog. Stop by when you get a chance.

take care,
Dawn

Hi Darlene,
I think your tree is beautiful! It is so hard to get a picture of a tree that is as pretty as the actual tree...at least to me!

I have a slim line tree and really love mine...and it is prelit! LOL

Very pretty. I have wanted white lights on our tree for as long as i can remember...but hubby likes the colored blinky ones! I think next year im putting up two trees!

CatHerder said...

My cats take the balls off the tree (even though i wrap the hooks around the boughs) and they bring them upstairs and drop them on our beds during the night...i assume as presents! When salem was a kitten he used to climb inside the tree to the top and stick his head out like a bat!

It's beautiful...I love trees with ornaments that have memories..theme trees are pretty, I just prefer sentimental ornaments and ones that friends and family have given or made over the years...each year we all give an ornament to one another...the kids are usually the things that they liked the most during the year...like Star Wars or Blues Clues...

All of your decorations are pretty and I love coming over to visit and see what youve done next!

Your tree is beautiful. I've been through the years with the cats in the tree so I know exactly what you're talking about. I want a new slim tree also....just couldn't bring myself to buy one this year.

Cats are like babies; you have to decorate around them. You've done a good job, though. I think your tree is beautiful.

Good morning Darlene, Your tree is beautiful. Photos do not do a
Christmas tree justice. I am looking for a pre-lit tree too. after Christmas sales or nothing. LOL. I was just over ar Molly's blog at Dark Oak Woman, and she has an 11 ft real tree. She has two cats that climb to the top. She said they will tire of it??? Thank heavens my poodle can't climb. She gets into everything else. She goes in a pocketbook if it is open. lol.

Have a great day.

Christmas hugs...Jeanne

It looks great & how can you be mad at that cute little kitty? She just wants to have a little fun.
My 14 yr old cat still sits under the tree & chews on the branches.

Darlene, your tree looks beautiful!!! I remember when I was still at home....my Mom used to put birds on the Tree...well girl, the cat would have a hissy fit trying to get them and most of the time she did...she must have thought they were real birds...lol so I can relate to your cat story. Nancy

Hi Darlene:) Love your Santa ornament. You are one talented painter! I had to laugh about your tree-at least it's full:) We have one big one that I love and then a taller skinny one that might just be going to Goodwill after Christmas. It's pathetic. You can see the wall between the branches. Doesn't help that the rest of my white lights died and all I had in the crawl space was blue. It's just not working for me:)

Shannon said...

It is so pretty! I love the fullness of it but you are right, a slim one will fit better. We had a slim prelit tree in our old house and it was just as pretty. We potted ours. :) That might keep your kitten out of the bottom rows but probably now. :)

Man Darlene, You are an excellent painter. I love your Santa. I love your kitten too. For all the trouble it is, I'm sure it's a big bundle of entertainment as well. After all, your house is its playground. I want to get me a kitten now.

I loved your post about Lexi's jump team. That sounds so cool.

I'm trying the snow effect on my blog but so far, I'm not loving the way it looks with my pale pink background. Yours looks really cute though, thanks for the info.

Oh, I'm picturing the kitten now climbing all about, making ornaments shake and jingle and you having to rush in and save the tree from tipping.
Hey wait~ my Caroline must be related to your kitten because that is how some of my days are going!!!

Beautiful! I did love Twilight but am having some withdrawl, I started a full time job 3 weeks ago so I haven't had the chance to read the 3rd book. Have you? Yes I am ready for some winter weather (in small increments) I keep thinking that will put me in the Christmas spirit. Smiles, Paula

WOW! Your tree looks like a picture out of a magazine! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!

Nola @ the Alamo said...

Darlene, Word of caution; I bought a slim pre-lit tree a couple of years ago. Now one strand of lights is out and it's he** trying to find the ONE bulb to make the strand light. Finally I gave up and just threw another strand on, but that means I have a strand unlit; it's next to impossible to get that strand off of the tree! So be careful with the prelit because they are difficult to remove when you need to replace them.
