Some Wins and Jump-n-Jive in the Parade....

I have won a couple of more giveaways and wanted to first thank Sally of Smiling Sally for drawing my name for this book. 100 Ways to Simplify your Life. I have started it and I LOVE it. It is written in chapters of about two pages each with chapter titles such as Learn How to Say No and Avoid Excess. It is great and thank you so much Sally!
Next, I want to thank Lori of Morning Glories and Moonflowers for drawing my name for this wonderful Christmas book called The Traditions of Christmas. I haven't gotten to browse through it yet but I will soon. I also bought a beautiful bracelet from her for myself and a friend from her Etsy store. Stop by and see her beautiful jewelry. Thanks so much Lori!
On Saturday Lexi was in our downtown Christmas parade with her performing/stunting jump roping team called Jump-n-Jive. She is in the front, not quite in the center with her leg kicked the highest in this picture. Also, she has one of her black sleeves pushed up and one has come down. By the time they got to us they had come a long way so they were getting quite tired.
This is Lexi's third year to be on the team and she is really good. It is so much fun to go watch them perform. They also go to Dallas, Texas to a workshop each year and stunt doubles from the movie "Jump In" coach jump roping teams on techniques and tricks in jump roping. Neat isn't it!?! She is a great performer and rarely messes up.

Great job to Lexi for being able to kick and jump rope in a Christmas parade! That must have been exhausting! I can't even begin to imagine! Talk about getting you in great shape...that would definitely do it!

Good Morning Miz Darlene,
Lexi looks like she is having fun! I wish we had teams like that in school when I was going cause I loved jumping rope. Of course none of knew how to do anything fancy like your Lexi. I bet she has a ball going to jump camp each learning, learning new things.

And congrats to you on winning two more giveaways! I have yet to win a single one... *sigh* But since someone has to win I'm glad it's you my friend! *smiles*

Woo-just looking at those pics of your daughter make me tired! What a fun thing to participate in. I bet she comes home and takes a nice long nap. I should look into something like that-soemthing that would tire my children out and require them to take a nice long nap!!
Jealous of all your prizes. You really are one luck duck!!!

Darlene, they look like good books to get some great info from.
That must of been tiring to jump rope the whole parade route, but that's the kind of stuff kids love. I wouldn't make it half a block. lol.
Glad you are feeling better.

Lexi looks like she was having so much fun in the parade!

Congratulations on your wins Darlene--enjoy them!

I love seeing this jump roping! It's so cool--I can't imagine the calories she burns doing this. I used to love jumping rope during recess in elementary and middle school and was sad to see this simple, fun pastime lose it's popularity. Teams like this will help it make a come back!

Hi Darlene~
First of all, congratulations on winning a couple of giveaways! That's so fun! :)

Also, it sounds like your daughter is an excellent jump-roper, and boy, no wonder she was tired by the time she got to where you were! Our oldest daughter LOVES jump roping, and I bet she'd love doing this. It's something to think about it! :)

I hope you had a great weekend! :)
