Can the Snowmen Stay?

Well, I have taken all of my Christmas decorations down but I thought I might leave up my snowmen (a winter scene?) through January in this one area. Here is what I have done right now.

This primitive snowman lights up....you all know by now that I LOVE things that light up!
I got all three of these snowmen as presents this year. Aren't they adorable?
Here is my Winter Queen again.
I also received this snow covered church from hubby, Alan and LOVE it. Does it look way to much like Christmas to leave out?
Now here is my question. You won't hurt my feelings so be honest. Does this display look too Christmas-y? Should I remove the church? I still have those two tall glittered snowmen that could go in its' place. Should this snowmen display stay or go? Help please........

What Goes Up.....

must come down and get packed away. I got everything packed away on Saturday with a little help from Midnight.

As you can see she had to check out each and every box and bag that was brought inside. We finally packed her away and will see her next Christmas!! Just kidding, though we couldn't find her for awhile. She was buried under the tree skirt, in the box fast asleep.

Christmas Eve Pictures and Wii Fun.....

I thought I would share some pictures we took on Christmas Eve. I don't think you have met my parents, so let me introduce them. My dad Cecil, mom Charlotte, me, hubby Alan and Lexi in front.

The best present of all is the little girl in front of the tree! Notice our packages don't have ribbons, bows, or fun stuff on them because of our little terror Midnight. Do you see her in the picture?
Santa brought Lexi a Wii sports package. We have had so much fun playing it. We are finding muscles that we have not used in a long time.

The instant Lexi got out of the shower here they are on the Wii again!
I hope you all got every thing you wanted for Christmas. I have been having fun with my family while I have been off this week. I should be back to regular posting and visiting next week. See ya later!

Last Minute Sweets....

Here are a couple of fast and easy to make sweets. We are going to leave these and chocolate covered Ritz bits out for Santa and the reindeer this year (click to enlarge).

This is all you need for yummy chocolate covered Ritz bits.....
I just melt the almond bark in the microwave, then stir in hand-fulls of Ritz bits. I use a spoon and scoop them out onto wax paper for the chocolate to harden. Quick, easy and delicious!

We sure love these and hope Santa and the reindeer will to!
I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Hope you have a great one with your family and friends.

My Parent's Oklahoma Christmas Home...

For those of you who have just started reading my blog. My parent's live in Houston, Texas but have purchased and remodeled a home right around the corner from us. I can't wait until they retire and move here. This is right when you walk in their front door.
This little tree is above that table.
That little table above is on the back side of the fireplace. This is in their living area.

The mantle....I painted the Santa.

Here is their Santa fireplace screen. I painted these Santa's a long time ago. They all used to be holding wreaths but they have since been lost. We are going to get different toys to put in their hands.
We are a poodle family and these are my parent's two poodles. The smaller one is Prissy and the other one is Sasi. They are spoiled rotten!
This big Santa is really neat. It opens up, lights up, and he tells the "Twas the Night Before Christmas" story. Next to him is a clock that plays a Christmas carol each hour.

Merry Christmas from my parent's Oklahoma home.

Can You Stand More Christmas Decorations?

This post is going to be a lot more pictures from around my home. My kitchen table.
The Santa and bag are salt and pepper shakers.
A snowman cookie jar and a Santa boot filled with yummy candy canes. Help yourself to a candy cane as we continue the tour.
This is at the end of the counter next to the refrigerator.
I have showed you one side of my computer desk in an earlier post (with the Santa's). This is the other side. See the new little plate I won from Judi at Cranberry Blossom.

I just got this new Winter Queen at one of our little boutique stores and I LOVE her! I want to start collecting these....they have a bunch of cute ones.

Here is a snowman hanging out in my garland on the half wall when you enter our home.
This is my big Patriotic Pride snowman.
This is a beautiful live wreath I picked up yesterday from our local garden center....they were 1/2 off. I just need a big bow on it now. I LOVE the pine smell in our home, like we have a real tree. I got one for my parent's home too.
Thanks for sticking with me through all these pictures. On Monday I will show you my parent's Oklahoma home decorated for Christmas. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

The Kitchen Tree....

We have had this tree for a couple of years and usually have it outside, but it seems to constantly get blown over in these Oklahoma winds. So, this year I decided to put it in the kitchen by the back door. With the Midnight terror I have just put candy canes and paper tags on it. I saw some plastic sugared candy cane pieces at Hobby Lobby today and I think I am going to go back and get those and just put them all over the tree. That way nothing can get broken.
Even with this tree not decorated very well, I just love seeing the pretty lights reflected in the china cabinet. It just looks magical......
Hope you are having a wonderful Thursday. Can you believe there is only a week left?

Oops I Did It Again!

First off I have to tell you that yesterday I fell....HARD! I am so thankful I didn't break anything but I am very, very sore. We had a light sleet and I hit a really slick spot on the sidewalk and boom, the next thing I know I was on the ground. My knee, leg, big toe and neck/shoulder area hurt, but I know it could have been much worse. Anyway, can you guess what I did????? I won Judi's giveaway at Cranberry Blossom. I secretly think the random generator has a crush on me....hehehe. After I made it home from the big fall, the mail lady brought this package right to my door step.

Look at these little wrapped goodies. I felt like it was Christmas.

Here are the goodies. Did I mention that Judi is very talented. She made this fabulous tote bag.

Look at all the other goodies. Two issues of her favorite magazine, Canadian Living, an adorable snowman plate, an inspirational keyring that says believe, handcrafted Sleigh Ride Soap, Cranberry, peach and vanilla bath bomb, and a lemon blossom moisture lotion bar. I have to tell you she made everything but the plate and the magazines....how talented!!! Her etsy shop is pinkdaisies.etsy.com.

Thank you so much Judi for this wonderful prize and for being a wonderful blogging friend. If you haven't been by to visit her you really need to.
