Iced In!!!

School is out and we are not going anywhere today. Most of the state of Oklahoma is iced in today. We are still getting sleet in our area, so everything is a slippery sheet of ice. ** Update: It is now 11:35 a.m. and little tiny snowflakes are falling. Lexi is squealing with joy hoping they get bigger and stick. We will see!

These are our front pavers, they are glazed with ice, and it is now filling up in the little dips and crevices. BRRRRR! This will stay all day because we are not supposed to get above freezing. I have a feeling we won't be going anywhere tomorrow either.
Stay warm wherever you are!

Brrrr Darlene--I love looking at your ice pictures though. Isn't it nice to have a day off from the routine? Bet Lexi is a happy girl. I hope your power stays on and you can be nice and cozy inside!

Brr! Cold is right. It is cold here, but not that cold. Bright and sunny but we need the rain really bad. Everything is beautiful and green as you can see by the pictures I have been taking. That won't last long if we don't get more rain though. We never have stay home days due to weather. Well, we did one year due to flooding. That is a rare occurance though. Stay warm and safe.

Yuck stay warm and safe!

I do not like ice one bit! Just stay home and don't venture out on those dangerous roads. Be sure to visit my blog...maybe that will help just a little. :)

Same here! I'm such a wimp that I only took pictures from the door. It's so cold.

Let's hope the power keeps working. :)

We've got it too - plus about 4 inches of snow (not much, but enough to make it miserably cold). More freezing rain expected tonight, so we are in for the day and hoping to keep our power!

We are still getting freezing rain in OKC area. I hope your family stays nice and toasty warm! Stay safe!

It seems like the ice is EVERYWHERE! I hope you keep your electricity. Right now our roads aren't too bad, but apparently temps are supposed to drop and we have standing water everywhere. Like you, I'm guessing tomorrow will be another snow day.

I wished we were at least experiencing the cold part of that weather your getting. Today we are going to be sitting at an above average muggy, 70 degrees! Yuck! I hope that ya'll stay warm! What a great time to drink hot cocoa and snuggle up with a good book beside the window.

I think you are right about tomorrow. Hopefully by noon tomorrow you and Lexi can get out. Now, you all have a LOT more ice than we do. We need the water but not in ice form. Enjoy the day.

We are iced in too! Hubby couldn't go to work and the girl's schools were cancelled as well. Hope I can get to UPS tonight I have a bunch of rugs that I need to get shipped!
I tried to ship them last night but the bypass I needed to take was closed down due to a major accident..guess it was probably getting icy then.

YUCK! Well, if it's any consolation, I know all about the ice. I live in WNY, and you could ice skate in my driveway! Seriously! LOL! Love your Valentines Day decor. Happy Tuesday!

That's exciting! It's supposed to hit here by afternoon. The kids were totally bummed that school hadn't been cancelled today, although several surrounding districts were.

Stay warm!

We've got it here, too. It's like the whole town has shut down. I wonder if the mailman will come?? Stay warm and cozy, Sweetie! Make some cookies! I'm hoping we don't lose our electricity again.... Lori

I LOVE snow...but not ice. It causes too much damage and there's usually power outages. Stay in and be safe. Maybe Lexi will see some snow.

How fun a snow day! We don't get those ice storms here. Just snow snow snow. Our kids haven't had a snow day yet, so I bet they would be jealous of you guys. It is minus ten here however and they still had recess at school. Can you believe that? Have a fun day!

Brrr! Ice is really pretty to look at, but DON'T get out in it, it is too dangerous.

Is it still snowing? What fun that will be for Lexi!

I can't even imagine what my girls will do when we get up there...well, I guess I do know. They will use their pee pee pen and not go outside!! They think they are freezing, don't they?

It would be nice to have a day at home, but only if the electricity stayed on.

Sounds like a great day for soup, hot tea or coffee, a good book and a blanket.

sweet momma said...

Oh, aren't those days wonderful as long as the power stays on. You can do crafts, play games, roast marshmellows in the fireplace, sip on hot cocoa and just have fun!

We have been cold here to but it did warm up turn to rain after 9 am.

We normally get the ice that you guys have right now but this time around we got more snow than ice. So, snow day today and they already called off tomorrow.
I hope yours also turns over to snow so you guys can enjoy it!
Stay warm and safe and have a hot cocoa for me!!!

Yep, we're supposed to get that mess overnight and into tomorrow. I am not looking forward to it. Kiddo and I will be snug as a bug in the proverbial rug, but Sound Man still has to attempt to go to work. Ugh. I'm just praying he makes it there and back okay. Stay warm!
