Jump - n - Jivin......

Lexi's first performance of 2009 with her Jump-n-Jive team was last night at a high school basketball game. For anyone new to my blog, Lexi is on a performing jump roping team. In this picture she is on the front row to the far right.
She is up front.
In the YMCA routine they are making the M with jump ropes....see it? Lexi is second from the left.
This is Lexi's signature move called the rump bump. She is twirling the rope underneath her and jumping it with her butt and leg muscles (in the sitting position). Last year she did it by herself and the crowd goes wild! This year she is in the middle and and has one other jumper on each side of her.
Lexi is going in on double dutch. She is the second girl from the left going into the ropes.
Here is our team going back on the court after the half-time break. It was a great game but our girls ended up losing by 2 points.
Hope everyone is having a great "hump" day!

She looks like she's having the time of her life! I used to love jump roping when I was a girl...don't even think I could get the thing over my head now! :)
Go Lexi!!!

I think she is remarkable. I used to like to jumprope as a child. I couldn't do anything near as talented as that....just a little Cinderella dressed in yella went upstairs to kiss a fella! LOL!

You must be very proud of her!!!

take care,
Dawn

Looks like she is having fun and I bet Mom is also having fun...They had a jump roping team back a few years ago but not sure they do this anymore. I love watching this...Very neat and pretty cool...now I know I couldn't even begin to get the rope over my head.lol

Enjoy these activites cause let me tell you they end quicker than you think. I remember when Tabitha cheered and oh I loved going and now I miss it so much.

This is so cool! I've never seen a "jumpers" group! Looks like they are very good and entertaining too! Love the socks! ~hugs, Rhonda :)

PS...Your background is cute! I'm not a pink person, but I decided to try pink this morning, too! Something different for me and it is cheerful for the winter days! Like the glitziness of yours! :)

Lexi sure has well developed leg muscles to do that rump bump.

That is so awesome! It really looks like a lot of fun. I wished I still had that much muscle to do the rump bump one. I don't think I could manage to bounce my hinney off the floor without pulling something! *smiles*

That is too cool. Jumpin' rope cheerleaders. I've gotta tell my daughter. She was a cheerleader in jr. high and H.S. and I know they never thought of jumpin' rope. Your daughter is really pretty and she's got her own sig. jump. I bet you're proud.

Go Lexi! That looks like so much fun! Like April I loved jumping rope when I was growing up, but of course we didn't have a neat team like that. It's a great work out too!

How great is this!! No wonder that child doesn't have an ounce of fat on her little bones! :)
We have "tried" to jump rope in some of our exercise classes--it took me a VERY long time just to do a simple, repetitive jump--with ME turning the rope for myself. I CAN'T imagine how difficult that would be to have more than one rope turning at the same time! IMPRESSIVE is all I can say about Lexi!! Dana

This is a fun sport for a young girl.
