New DVD Storage Cabinet....

The good news is that the sleet has stopped falling during the night. The bad news is that all we got was about 5 minutes of snow. The rest has been sleet or freezing rain so all this white you see is ice. The bottom right are those pavers I showed you yesterday that were glazed and just starting to get a bit of ice in them....they are covered now. The sun is already out this morning (it is glistening like diamonds on the ice) and we will get above freezing today so hopefully, all this melts.
Here is our new DVD storage cabinet I told you we bought. We had DVD's everywhere all over the house and we could never find (or even remember if we had bought) the DVD we might want to watch.
I had looked and looked for something and finally saw this at Big Lots and loved it. It was approximately $174.00 but to us well worth it to contain the DVD's. We also have some games stored in it and there is a bottom drawer which houses all our Wii remotes and controllers. I will eventually get some kind of large containers with the sticks or something sticking up to put on either side of the cabinet to fill in some of the space.
I want to eventually alphabetize all the movies so we can easily find what we want to watch. It is wonderful to have all of these contained in one place.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday and stay warm wherever you are. Schools are closed again today here so WOOHOO for Lexi!!!!

No school for us either. Yay! It's so nice not to have to wake up to the alarm clock. The sun is shining on the beautiful ice and sleet. Looks so pretty with some sun. Enjoy your day.

Love, love, love it!! Love the color, the doors and the size. I love everything about it. How neat your DVDs look too! Boy, you did good!

Thanks for your comment on my blog. I hope you can come for a visit also. We live a very simple life, but love it.

Your home is so beautifully decorated. I think decorated---in a home---means making it a loving place to be and you have definitely done that. I absolutely love your little touches and I thank you for sharing them on your blog.

Wow...you got five inches of snow! That's a pretty good bit, I'd say! We haven't gotten anything...NADA, ZILCH!

I LOVE your DVD storage cabinet...you found it at Big Lots? You did A-OK on that one!

Hehehehe April....no not 5 inches of snow only about 5 minutes of snow. I WISH we had gotten the 5 inches!

Hey girl, I love this, and it looks perfect for you. I love black and would love something to contain all our cd's in. Are you warm and cozy? It is cold here and we are having more lambs born, in the freezing cold wind. No snow, but it is so cold!
Blessings,
Debbie

Love the cabinet! I posted our icy after pics on my blog today. It has been quite a scary storm. I'm glad you guys didn't get hit too bad!

I love the DVD storage cabinet. I'm a little jealous because it's 6 degrees here, we got more snow, and they still won't close the schools. That's Idaho for you. It has to be below minus ten. Crazy!

I've been thinkin' about ya!! I'm glad you haven't lost power--we did for 9 days seven years ago when we had a major ice storm in the KC,MO area!
I LOVE that DVD cabinet! It's a perfect solution. Our Big Lots CLOSED! Infact, they closed two of them--there are 2 left locally, but not real close anymore (I'm pouting).
Stay warm and cozy and enjoy the Snow/Ice Day! Dana

I really love this. We have cabinets next to the TV and still...nothing ends up in there. There are movies all over the house. Some days it drives me crazy. Today I don't care so much because it is a snow day and we are just chillin' : )

HeathahLee said...

My Principal (hee hee) said we could take a snow day, too, even though I had already told Kiddo that homeschooled kids don't get snow days. : ) I guess he felt sorry for us.

I love that cabinet! I need to find one like it. We have our DVDs all over the house, too.

Oh, and I love that "M"! I have one that I got from Hob Lob that I need to decoupage, I just have to figure out how to without it looking like a first grader's art project!

Money well spend Darlene, it's a really nice cabinet.

We have the same annoying kind of ice storm going on here in PA, at least The Husband got to stay home...I'm still waiting to hear if I have to go teach swimming tonight.

Hi Darlene,
I love your cabinet! Looks so trendy and chic.

Sorry about the ice and not enought snow. That usually brings power outages here! And that is hard to handle!

Gorgeous! We have our dvds in baskets at the moment, but I have been wanting a DVD cabinet for the longest time. That one is exactly what I want! Black in color and the window paned glass! I must head to Big Lots. *smiles*

I love your cabinet!! It looks like it was worth the money!

I have my DVD's alphabetized. It's not always easy for Tim to put them away correctly. I should say, it is not easy for him to choose to put them away correctly! LOL!

take care,

Love your cabinet Darlene! I also wanted something to but luckly our entertainment has a place for ours also.

Oh goodness you did get some messy stuff. My hubby was able to get out of Ohio before all flights were cancelled due to the storm...his was the last flight before they cancelled the others.

Hi Darlene
What a beautiful cabinet! I love the colour and now you can tuck away all your DVDs nicely in one place. Very nice piece of furniture.

Yuck about your weather. I heard on the radio that you were getting bad weather your way and wondered how you were making out.

Snow is fine but sleet and ice is horrible. Drive safely and hopefully you get a little bit of nice snow before it all melts away!! We had 10" of snow yesterday....

have a lovely day
Judi

Lexi must be happy to have another snow day :-) I remember when mine were in school we all loved snow days :-)We had a big snow storm yesterday & the schools were closed but my son's College was still open and he had an exam so he had to go. I was so happy when he walked in the door!
I love your storage cabinet Darlene. Perfect for storing your games and DVD's.

Hope y'all are staying safe and cozy with the weather there.

I love your DVD storage cabinet. That is just the ticket to having it all stored away, yet accessible. Our dvd's are being stored in our master bedroom closet right now. Not the best place.

Looks like you all got the ice too- sorry about that. We were lucky we didn't have any more damage than we did - did you all have any? I hope not. I love your new cabinet - looks great! Oh to be organized - I just love stuff to much it's hard to keep it that way! hehe
Blessings to you, Cathy

Hi Darlene,
Thank you for your well wishes concerning my Sara. She continues to get a tad better each day.

I love your V-day decorations, you did a GREAT job!!! And I can't believe that classy cabinet came from Big Lots. It is absolutely beautiful. I've alphabetized my movies for years. So all the young people love to come hang out at our place for movie nights. : )

Also, I scrolled down to see your new adorable new hair style. It is SO SO cute on you!

Hi Darlene, That ice looks dangerous. This morning my dh walked out the back door and slipped on ice on the steps. he didn't fall but he now realizes he has to be more careful.

Your CD cabinet is nice and big as well as looks great. What a pleasure to have them all organized. Good choice.

Hugs...Jeanne

My daughter and her family live in S.E. Missouri and they were hit really hard by this ice storm. I am from there as well but happy that I do not live there this winter.

We have had our share of snow here in WA state but at least no ice.

That's a pretty furniture piece!
Wow! You have quite the library of DVD's. Can I come over and watch a movie?

Kitty Scraps said...

Good Morning Miz Darlene,
I love your new cabinet! And I know how you feel about having the DVD's all over the house, we had the same problem here. Last year I organized our "media" closet, I have his/their DVD's on one side and mine on the other *smiles* Mine are alphabetically arranged while his/theirs are not. It's not perfect, I could definitely use more shelves but it's better than stacking them on top of the tv for curious kitties to knock over! *smiles* So I totally get your happiness over your new DVD cabinet. And you have the added bonus of having a new piece to decorate *lucky girl*
