Vintage at Work....

I work a very part-time (3 hours a day) job and I am a personal secretary. Our offices are in an old warehouse style building. There are brick walls, huge ceilings and the whole front is glass....really neat. I am going to share with you some of the vintage items my boss has. Here are some old cash registers.
Look at these one armed bandits or slot machines. Guess what....they all still work!
More slot machines.
An old western painting and vintage signs.

An old juke box. Sorry, the picture isn't better...it is in the front window of the building.
Here is an old game, one of those you pull the plunger back and a little ball gets shot around and lands in one of the holes.....guess how much it costs to play? One cent.....yep, a penny.
Last, do you know what this is? It is an old fire extinguisher. Isn't it neat?!?!
I hope you enjoyed the vintage at my office. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

I love those cash registers, Darlene! How neat!!! Talk about conversation pieces! Wonder how old they are?

I, also, love the vintage signs and the game using a plunger. They're just items you don't see around everywhere. So glad you shared them today...I'd love to know the history behind them!

Wow, these are some really neat things Darlene. The cash registers are wonderful, and so are the signs. I remember the flying horse sign --wasn't that for Mobil gas? Your boss has a neat collection!

Wow, that is some really neat looking stuff! I love the cash registers!!

Are the slot machines available for people to play? A penny arcade game is a rarity!!

I also like the old fire extingusher.

What a great building, Darlene, and what neat collectibles your boss has!

I awarded you a blog award on my blog. I hope you will pick it up and wear it proudly. It's not one where you have to make a list of things. You simply post and pass the love around. :-)

XO,

Sheila

Love all the vintage signs!

I don't know if I'd make the drive to Target. :) I did have to pick through the left over xmas decor and a lot of the store was somewhat empty.

I think it's funny that things that look normal to me look old to so many other people; maybe it's because I'm getting awfully old.

Darlene, I love all of the vintage things on your post today. Your boss has quite a collection. I love the way they are displayed on the old brick.

I know you were pulling for Oklahoma girl. Both teams were so good. Tebow was amazing last night. We have season tickets to the home Gator games. My children and my husband are alumni at UF. Also my children's spouses. LOL. I am surrounded. You know we were excited and didn't get to bed before 2:30 AM. I took a long nap
today.

Thanks for your sweet comment about my grands. They are good kids and we adore them. No surprise here. LOL

Love...Jeanne

It would be at your house days sooner but we have had our share of rainy days and it puts a big damper on staining. I do hope you love it~ Thank you...Susie

Cool collection your boss has!!! Reminds me of Applebee's where they have all that neat stuff all over. lol :o)

I think I LIKE that boss of yours!! He collects great old things that I love and appreciate, too!

I would love to have a part time job like that---when I work part-time in school districts, I still had to bring home lots of work to do when I wasn't at school...I did that for several years and finally got fed up with lots of extra hours without pay.

I am s l o w l y reading Twilight. I am close to page 100. I'm sure it will pick up speed soon. Bonnie (one of my sidekicks) gave me the new John Grisham book for Christmas (I love him), but I told her I had to read Twighlight first! :) Oh, and I did get Mamma Mia--my hubby bought it for me at Best Buy with part of a gift certificate I gave HIM! Sweet, huh?

Have a great weekend. Dana

Your office building sounds a great place to work. Thanks for showing all those vintage treasures. I remember those type of old games. I think we called them bagatelles. I would love to have a go on it and the slot machines too. They are far more fun than some of the electronic games we have around these days.
Have a lovely weekend.

That is some neat stuff, love the cash registers!

When I worked as a bank teller...one day I went on a cleaning spree...well, I found an old coin holder, one that sat up on the teller's area, instead of in their drawers, made out of metal, very ornate...

Well, I showed it to everyone and they all ooed and ahhhhed over it and guess what? We never saw it again! lol We all had a sneaky suspicion of who took it...not very nice, they should have sent it to the main office of the bank for display, but whatever, it still makes me laugh when I think about it!

PastTimeSigns.com specializes in manufacturing a variety of vintage reproduction heavy duty metal products such as clocks, signs, oil cans, and thermometers.
Our primary goal is to produce custom products for customers to retail or use in promotions. We also produce a range of stock products and graphics for wholesale or retail.
We design and make our signs in the United States using 24 gauge American steel and a process known as sublimation, where the image is baked into a powder coating for a durable and long lasting finish. We then perform a vintaging process by hand to give this sign an aged look and feel. The edges of this sign are rounded for extra rigidity and the corners are drilled and riveted for easy hanging.
