A Few Tornado Pictures...

Our power came back on yesterday afternoon...YAY! I want to thank all of you for your concern and prayers for us and everyone in the area. I was exhausted from being up most of the night. Hopefully, I'll get to visit most of you today. Lexi is again out of school today. We found out that 9 people were killed, none of them were children. I drove down one road where a lot of damage was done and sorry for the poor pictures but I was trying to drive and snap a few. This is all the news media set up. There also were helicopters overhead all day long. We were approximately 3/4 mile away from much of the devastation.
They were marking the big red X when a pile of rubble had been searched.

This is a picture of all the people helping. This is in the Lone Grove High School parking lot and was the command center.

Unfortunately, we are getting better at handling the aftereffects of a catastrophe.

My goodness. I've been watching the news reports. It is on the weather channel right now. I've watched Lisanne give live reports and listened to some amazing stories. I'm glad you have electricity.Did you have limbs down and other things in the yard? Take care and know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Tornadoes are just terrible....if you have warning it sure isn't much. The pictures show just how devastasting they are. I know your town will be feeling this for quite some time. God bless you.

So sad. It does make me feel a little better to see the way communities come together after a tragedy like this.
Take care.

Darlene,

I can't even imagine all that you and your town went through. Thank goodness you were untouched for not living that far away from it all. Our media down here in GA kept us posted. We had tornado warnings all yesterday and since I have been here (almost 3 yrs.) they have gone around my little town, we seem to be protected.

Good Morning Miz Darlene,
I feel so terrible cause this is the first chance I've had to get online all week and what do I find when I visit you? that disaster has struck and you were right in the middle of it! OHMYGOODNESS, I am so very thankful that you guys and your home is all right! My prayers are going out to your community and to those who have lost loved ones in this storm. Please take care, be careful, keep safe.

I knew one of the people I follow lived out there, but couldn't remember who. I'm glad you're ok. It's amazing that you live so close to the devastation. I so hate people died in the storms. We got them last night, but nothing nearly as bad as what you all had. Be safe! Glad you're ok!

Oh my, that is scary. My mother was in a tornado as a child. They were very fortunate that when the tornado picked up their house, it stayed together. My uncle slept thorugh the whole thing. :)

Crazy stuff. Be careful out there.

How scary. I'm so glad you are all okay and sad for the ones who didn't make it. It is good to see how a community comes together and helps one another. You are all in my thoughts.

We've been watchin' the t.v. and it is so sad. It really is a wonder how more people didn't get killed. The twister we had in our area was a EF1 and in your area a EF4! We drove to my daughters yesterday (can you beleive I didn't take my camera!!!) and viewed the damage. A design store in the area had fence posts driven through their walls. My husband and I thought of you all and knew our area was very fortunate after what youn's went through. God Bless you all and you are in our prayers.

I came to your blog through Carol's. I live about 40 miles east of OKC and we didn't have any bad weather in our area.

I am so thankful you and your family are ok. Your community continues to be in my prayers.
God grant peace to those who lost loved ones.

My daughter works in OKC just a couple of miles from the tornado that hit on NW Expressway. It was just a little too scary. Also, my best friend lives in Ardmore. I haven't talked to her yet.

God bless!

We are going to stay with my MIL for a few days as our schools have a week holiday. She has no computer so no blogging for me! How will I survive?!! I look forward to catching up with your blog when we get back.

I'm so sorry this happened! I can relate somewhat because we have been through major hurricanes. I hope everything returns back to normal around there as quickly as possible. The spray paint thing is freaky. I remember seeing that on all the houses here. God bless!
