I'm Ready to Slow Down.......

like Midnight is doing. She loves it when we pull a chair up to the back door and she can just sit and watch everything.

We have all of the end of year "stuff" going on. It has just seemed crazy the last couple of weeks.
We have had:
* summer play auditions
* summer play call back auditions
* talent show practice
* end of school year assemblies
* ball practice (thankfully, that keeps getting cancelled due to the rain)
* sign ups for 5th grade cheer leading
* dance recital rehearsal (this Friday night)
* Broadway Kids tryouts (this coming Saturday morning)
* dance recital (this coming Saturday night)
* dance recital (this coming Sunday afternoon)
I have had to keep a calendar handy to keep up with everything. Not to mention that each day for the final few days of school something is going on. They are doing something or going somewhere and I am having to keep track of that also!

WHEW....I am hoping after this weekend we will get to slow down a bit.

We also had another storm blow through last night.....rain, rain, go away come back in July or August!

I hear ya! Last week we had stuff going on every night and all weekend. We don't even have kids yet! Last night I sat down and simplified what I could (mostly online stuff). It was difficult to let stuff go, but I feel so much better this morning. Now the trick is just keeping it simple.

I couldn't agree more -- I have so much yearend "stuff" too! I think you and Lexi should come visit us. I'll make sure you get some rest.

Hi Darlene
Sounds like you really have had a busy couple of weeks. Hope things slow down for you soon. I am envious that your school term finishes soon over there. We have to wait until the end of July.
Hope your stormy weather clears soon.

I know what you mean, Sweetie! Even though we are not in school there are still a ton of things that are coming to a close right now. What would I do without my calendar? I almost forgot that we were supposed to meet friends for lunch today! Ack! Lori

Wow! I thought I was busy. I think the age of the child correlates directly with how many things they need to do. I already feel like The Son's personal taxi service and he's only 5!

Can't wait to hear how Lexi's auditions go (went?) She does all the same things I did as a kid. LOVE IT!

Hi Darlene,
When my kids were Lexi's age I had a huge desk calendar that was just filled to the max. I still have a desk calendar but being all my kids are older they pretty much keep track of things on their own-I have to tell you it is nice to look down at a week that has nothing written down on the calendar~
I hope your calendar starts to clear up and you can slow down! :)
Robin~♥

Hey there Darlene ~

I feel your crazy~ness Sister! What is it about April and May? They make December look like a day at a spa...{not that I would know what that is}...someone told me that I was going to miss these days...but the only thing I'll be missing is my mind...cuz I lost it! Thank goodness for blogs...they give me the strength to go on! LOL.

Have a good one...further west, we still have a MONTH of school!

We keep a calendar in the office area and refer to it to keep up on everything going on, otherwise I know I'd forget.

Don't you ever wish we could have the life of a cat (with a good owner). They have it made. I love when cats looks content like that. Makes me happy.

I got tired just reading your list. Boy do I remember the end-of-the-year madness. That's one thing I don't miss.
And your domino necklace from Lexi turned out fabulous. I bet hers was the hippest and coolest one there. It's adorable!!

Hi Darlene
Whew your list is tiring me out.
Take some time to take it easy…if that rain would stop you could
sit and look at the pretty flowers. Your header is gorgeous.

Yes, so much going on right now. Soon, summer will be here full blast. Time for relaxing.

We are suppose to get rain the next few days. I know we need it, but I don't look forward to pushing my doggie out the door--he hates rain.

Darlene, I have been busy but not as busy as you. LOL. It is time for you to slow down. The flowers are called sweet williams. There is another name but I like what I already said. BIG smile. Midnight is such a pretty cat and always was since kittenhood. Has he slowed down a bit???

You slow down and get some relief from running the roads. Wow, what a schedule.

Hugs...Jeanne

Oh, I know just how you feel! I have so much going on as well with the end of school. One of these days I just have to plan on staying late and getting some things done. The only problem is that I am just too tired at the end of the day!

It sounds like you and Lexi are very busy, but it looks like fun stuff!

take care,
Dawn

You are busy!! I hope things calm down a bit for you. I'm ready for some nice weather. It's been cold and there is nothing but rain in our forecast. I want to get some more planting done but I still have to worry about frost. So crazy!

The end of the year is nuts here too right now. Pretty soon it will be a different kind of crazy when I have all the kids all day long. :)

LOL at Lexi wanting to drive the mower! My Sweet Girl loves to go for a ride on her Daddy's and Grandpa's as well.

I loved your comment about getting a rush when you find a good deal. That is exactly how I feel!!!

I remember those days when all 4 kids were at home. Our 3 boys played baseball, winter and spring, and I think we lived on pizza. lol. I miss it now.
I think that picture is adorable of Midnight sitting in the chair.

Man I agree. I wish summer would just get here already so all this craziness will stop.

Midnight reminded me to tell you that we are getting a new kitten. We can't bring her home until she has been spayed and received her final shots, but it will be soon. The girls and I are giddy with anticipation. Now we can have a playful little fur ball to toss about in our decoration bins too. :)
