My Mother's Day Gift.....

I hope all of you had a wonderful Mother's Day. I wanted to show you (sorry about the bad picture) what I received from Lexi. Each year at school they make us something. Things like pencil holders, decorate a flowerpot with a flower in it, a poem w/a hand print......things like that. This year they made a necklace. Isn't is CUTE! Lexi told me there were a bunch of papers, jewels, letters, etc. and that they picked out what they wanted to use and made us our Mother's Day present. She did a fantastic job. I am wearing it right now.
It is made on the back of a domino. How hip and in style!!! Thanks so much Lexi and I just LOVE it!

I may need y'all to come to Oklahoma and start working on an ark! I has rained and rained and rained!! This morning it is pouring again! When I was coming into work for my part-time job I was driving through some pretty deep water in a couple of places. I am ready to dry out! We have a ton going on right now at the end of the school year, so I apologize if I haven't gotten around to visiting you. I will get to you.
Hope you have a great Monday!!

Love your cute necklace, Darlene! Don't little gestures like that make you feel like a million bucks? We've had our share of rain lately, too!

Morning, Darlene! Oh, was a pretty necklace Lacy made for you! I think she has some of her mother's scrapbooking skills!
Oh, I saw on the news this morning about all of the rain and flooding up your way. Be safe and hopefully it will dry up soon.
Be a sweetie,

What a cute idea for a necklace. I love those special things that kids make in school.
Hope you dry out there soon. It gets tiring to have rain day after day.

What an extra special necklace. I love all the hand made gifts that the kids make. I told them this year to make a card instead of buying one. They just mean so much more.

She did a lovely job on that necklace!

That's really cute! I love it when teachers come up with ideas for the kids to make gifts that are actually nice. Not to be ungrateful for any gift a child makes but, well, you know what I mean.

I almost had to build an ark last week, you must that weather now. Try to stay dry and have a great week!

Hi Darlene
I love the necklace Lexi made for you. It's very pretty and a clever idea to use a domimo. I am sure you will treasure it forever.
Sorry to hear you have a lot of rain. Sounds just like England!

You know I make jewelry, right? I've actually heard of people selling pendants that are made on the back of a domino and the scrabble letters - it's a great idea. And the pendant came out lovely!

How cute, Darlene! Lexi did a fabulous job!:)

We are getting the rain here, too. I love the cooler weather but it is getting quite mushy... My parents are getting nothing in Florida. They are on water restriction and can't water their yard or wash their cars.:( Lori

What a special gift...from a SPECIAL girl! It has rained more in Alabama the past week than it has in several years. I really want sunshine but we had a drought a couple of years back and I'm afraid to complain. Have a feeling we'll be hoping for rain this summer!

Send some of that rain (but not too much of it) to Florida--we're experiencing a draught.

I like you Mom's Day necklace.

Your parents are not there yet? I thought they were. I guess that was just for Christmas.

Oh- I love the necklace! Lexi did a great job on it.. maybe jewelry-making is her calling!
Sorry about the rain... I feel your pain.

Hi Darlene! What a darling necklace!!! Reusing dominoes for jewelry items is a very "in" thing these days---so, yes,you are very "hip" with that necklace Lexi designed and made for you! It is priceless.

We haven't had enough rain to start pulling out our ark plans, but it's supposed to pour this afternoon--and it's COLD!!!

Have a good Tues!! L, Dana

Hi Darlene--that is a really neat Mother's Day gift. I know you'll have it to enjoy for years to come. We've had rain here in NC too, but not as much as it sounds like you've got. Spring is supposed to be warm and sunny! I bet you feel like you do need to build an ark!

Love the necklace! It's adorable! Great job, Lexi! We're having some crazy weather here in Dallas too. One minute, it's raining like crazy. The next, the sun is out! I can't plan any yard work at the moment and I am so ready to PLANT FLOWERS! I hope that it clears up for you all there...I like the rain, but not alllll the time!

How cute...it's fun that she made something you can wear! Instead of one of the MANY ashtrays I got from the kids when they were in school...and none of us ever smoked lol
