Patriotic Ragamuffin Garland & Look What I Won...

Well, I have to tell you there is nothing easy about crafting when you have a playful kitten and poodle around! Lexi was trying to help me cut the strips for the garland and Midnight had to wrap herself up in them.
Here is the next color she couldn't leave alone!
Somehow we finally got all of the strips cut and into piles and look who shows up again! It is a good thing she is so darn cute!......lol
Anyway, I have made two garlands so far (sorry for the picture I couldn't seem to get a good one in the window). They really are easy....the hardest part is getting all the strips cut or torn. Here is a tutorial I did if you are interested in making one.
Here is one just laid on the mantle. They look great anywhere. I have enough material that I can do more, and if I have time I will.
I also won a giveaway at Christina and Victoria's blog called As Time Goes By. They had three giveaways of yard sale items they had found that they thought people would enjoy. I was lucky enough to get drawn for the gorgeous tablecloth and napkins. Guess what the price was???? $1.00!!! Can you believe it? Anyway, look at all of the detail and there are no stains on the tablecloth at all and just a couple I found on the napkins. There are 11 napkins! That was some great thrifting!! Thank you so much for these beauties!

Hope you all are having a great Tuesday and staying cool wherever you are. I will show you my Patriotic decorations later this week.

What an adorable garland, Darlene! Love it! And that kitty is too cute playing with the strips. I had a black cat named Pogo when I was a teenager, and he was a very playful kitty, too! :-)

And you got a steal on that cloth!

That Midnight is so gorgeous--and you do a great job getting good photos of her. My black cat, Frankie, rarely takes a good picture! Little Twiggy, however, is very photogenic!! I can't have a thing like that on the floor OR table--I will always have a kitty in it if I do!! Your garlands are wonderful--what a great idea.

Congrats on your giveaway win---how awesome that the t.cloth and napkins are in mint condition!

I love the buys you recently made off etsy---especially that darling birdcage for Lexi's room!!

Our temps have been in the 80s the last couple of days--tomorrow we start RAIN again (predicted for the 4th)--then next week we see the 90s again.... :(

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Independence Day--watch out for those fireworks! L, Dana

Hi Darlene~
I love how your garlands turned out~ so colorful and the fabric is so cute! When you told us you were going to make a garland in fourth of July colors, it reminded me that I have been meaning to do a garland since you gave the tutorial last fall! I copied you and did a patriotic one, too, and now I am so addicted to making these! I am planning on so many different kinds for different rooms! Thanks so much for the tutorial you did; you did a good job on it, and the project was so fun! :) Oh, and congratulations on winning the giveaway! :)
