Summer Play Willy Wonka Junior - Aladdin Last Year...

On Monday, Lexi started her summer play rehearsals for Willy Wonka Junior. She was quite excited because this year she landed a small part, in addition to being in the ensemble. She is a Candy Man kid named Matilda and has a few speaking lines plus a small (very small) solo in one of the songs. She loves it and the show will be in July. Of course, I'll show you pictures during final dress rehearsal.
Last summer she was in the ensemble in the play Aladdin. It was one of my first posts so none of you that read my blog now saw it, so I thought I would share some pictures. It was really a cute show. Lexi is in the front in purple.

This picture shows the lead characters. The boy in the front played Aladdin and the girl to his right (from looking at the picture) played Jasmine. They were both really good. The taller girl to the left played the Genie. She was excellent! Lexi actually got a call back for the Jasmine part and it was the first time she had ever auditioned!
The kids had sooooo much fun and did a great job!
Hope you are all having a wonderful Wednesday!

I just love Lexi! Not that I really know her of course but you know what I mean. She reminds me SO much of myself when I was that age. I grew up doing theatre and even met my husband doing a show.

My sister is a former music teacher and they used to do the "Jr." versions of shows at their school. They're great and we always got a kick out of joking about what shows should be made into "Jr." versions... "Rent, Jr.", "Hair, Jr.", "Avenue Q, Jr."... cracks me up every time.

Can't wait to see pictures and hear all about the show!

Wow - I'm impressed. It takes a confident kid to get up in front of an audience and do a play. Willy Wonka Junior - I can just picture all of the neat pictures you can take!

My kids used to do these Children's Theater shows. Their first one was Big River, after that they did Bye Bye Birdie, Peter Pan, Snoopy, Oliver, Annie, Wizard of Oz. I think that was all of them. I made some of all of their costumes for those shows. My kids costumes, not the other kids. That would have been too much.

Well fooey...guess what I found sitting on my messy craft table? The little silver bird that is suppose to be on your ballerina birdcage. No fear...it will be in the mail tomorrow. So sorry!

Thank you, thank you, for letting me know it got there safe and sound. I've been asking each customer to let me know what condition my items arrived in, so I can get this packing thing right. Was the little birdcage unharmed too? I'm so happy you like the banner. You've made my day. : )
