Summer Play ~ Willy Wonka....

Last night at 7:00 was the opening performance of Willy Wonka. They also had a final dress rehearsal where we could take pictures and the YMCA day camp got to come and watch at 2:30 yesterday. Lexi is in the very front kneeling here.
They are wearing their own clothes for this scene. In the opening scene they are all candy man kids. The boy in the top hat played Willy Wonka.
Singing and dancing through one of the songs.
Lexi had an actual part and played Matilda (a candy man kid). This was where three of them were singing a song and Lexi had a solo through part of it. The boy in the picture is the one that played Charlie.
There were eight of them in this dance scene.

Lexi was also a chef in a song called "I Eat More" which was from Augustus Gloop (one of the kids that found a golden ticket). She is the second from the right in the picture (holding a carrot) and her hat was too big. I put some stitches in the back to make it smaller for the actual night time performance.
Now she is an Oompa Loompa. She is in the bright orange wig.
I have to tell you the plays are always wonderful and entertaining. We have some VERY talented children here in our area. The play still runs Friday and Saturday night at 7:00 and Sunday at 2:30. After the Sunday performance they will have a big pool party for the cast. What FUN!!!
Hope you all have a great weekend. You know what we will be doing.....lol

Hi Darlene, how cute is that Lexi in the Willy Wonka play. I would love to be able to see her perform. What a wonderful thing, for the children to have fun performing. When we were kids we always had fun trying to put on a play for the neighborhood for money. We never made any money and I can't think what we planned to spend it on now anyway. LOL. This cute post brought back a memory. I love your Lexi.

Have a happy time going to see Lexi this weekend.

Hugs...Jeanne

Can't believe you didn't get some of that rain! Shuck. We got 1.15 inches. Just a nice soaker but of course it is soaked in now.

I am definitely going to keep in mind the Sunday Matinee of Willie Wonka. I know it is so adorable.

Can't wait to see more pictures.

How fun that must be for Lexi. I keep telling Tim he needs to be in the theater...he's so dramatic LOL!

There is a local theater here that we take our kindergarten classes to to see their plays and they are wonderful!

Does Lexi want to be in the theater?

take care,
Dawn
