Yard Sale and Thrift Store Finds......

I managed to hit a yard sale this past weekend so I linked up at Rhoda's Southern Hospitality. Stop by her blog and see all of the great things that people found this past weekend. Here is a picture of all of my goodies.
I never posted my pillows from a few weekends ago, so I added them in today. These were at a little thrift store and were $2.50 each. They are on our back porch swing and occasionally move to the rocker. Wherever they are needed. I love the material.
These are from the yard sale I went to on Friday. A large Americana painted box $1.00. A pair of Naturalizer sandals (they don't look like they were ever worn) $1.00.
This adorable vintage looking colander was $1.50 and the little fish citronella candles (Lexi wanted us to get these) were $1.00.
There were tons of sales in the paper for Saturday and I planned to go to a bunch of them. Unfortunately, Friday night Lexi started complaining of a sore throat. I checked and she also had a temperature......soooooo Saturday morning we went to the clinic and she has strep throat. She got an antibiotic and a throat wash and is already feeling MUCH better. I'm so glad we caught it early, because they are rehearsing away for the play. It opens on Thursday night and she definitely needs to be WELL.
Hope you all are having a wonderful day and staying cool wherever you are. We are hitting temperatures in the triple digits with heat indexes of about 110!! TOO Hot!!

Hi Darlene--Great yard sale finds. I love that colander. I know you'll get great use from the little pillows all summer. So glad you caught Lexi's strep early. I'm looking forward to a report on the play. We were in the 90s here on Sunday in NC, but you've sure got us beat in the heat department! Try to stay cool...

Love that colander, and the Americana box! Those pillows are cute too. I had some nice ones, that I hand-sewed, on my back porch, and the squirrels ripped them all apart to use the stuffing for their nest. So sad...
You found alot of great things!

Wow Darlene! Love that colander and cute shoes! I always have big intentions of hitting more sales, but it rarely happens. It's quality, not quantity, right?;)

Hope Lexi feels better soon! Lori

You found some great items!
I hope Lexi is back to 100% soon. And my wish for you would be cold air conditioning and a tall, chilled glass of strawberry lemonade to help survive those 100 degree temps.

Nice finds! I only found one thing this weekend, and have already done a make-over on it. I also linked with Rhoda's post.

Glad you caught the strep early and I hope the rest of you don't get it. That can be some nasty stuff!

I hope the play goes well and Lexi is all better soon.

Have a great week!

Great finds! I love the pillows and the box. Looks great! I am glad took Lexi in and caught it early. Hope she is feeling tons better by now! Busy times for you with play rehearsals and such. It was hot here today too. Not 110, but it did reach at least 100 here. I can't wait for it to cool off.

Hi Darlene
Wow you did so well with your sales...that collander is so cute. Its a great colour and those cute little fishie candles...nice box and great deal on the sandals. Don't you love it when you find such great sales on stuff you would never have found or bought anywhere else?..*s*...thats what I always think...
I hope Lexi is feeling better...thats not nice.

Wow its hot over there...our temps are not going up... much...I don't know whats happened to our summer. Today's high was 70..and although the sun was out there was a bit of a breeze so it was a touch cool.

Let's trade for a day..

Great finds, I love the fabric on those pillows too! Very nice.
Thanks for coming over to visit, you are so sweet! After I was about 90% of the way done with painting my hubby says to me, Oh did you grab the spray paint handle out of the basement? lol I didn't know we had one! It really did make it easier, had I found it earlier my hand may have been saved. Hope you are having a great week!

Wow! Great stuff. The sandals are adorable and you're right, they really don't look like they were ever worn.

I have to tell you, I'm jealous of your heat. I love hot summers and we usually have them but this year we haven't reached 90 this whole month of July. It's actually quite strange but at least our electric bills aren't too high.
