My Hummingbird Beauties and Crazy Hair....

The other day we were sitting on our back patio and managed to get some great photos of the hummingbirds. Usually, they are all battling and chasing each other off, but two of them were staying together and feeding at the same feeder. My header photo is one that we captured.
I just think they are the cutest little birds!
Here they are again at our second feeder.
Lexi wanted her hair braided all over after her shower the other day. Here is what we ended up with. It was really fluffy and she had a great time with her different look.
Several of you asked what I was doing with my yard sale money. We put about half of it in savings and the other half will be going to pay for Chelsea's (my elderly white poodle) surgery. She had three tumors removed yesterday and we will be able to pick her up later today. Poor thing.

How good to use your money for Chelsea. I hope she is doing well and has a speedy recovery. Don't these animals burrow into our hearts?
Hummers are the best birds. Fun to watch. My sister in law found a feather. TINY. Love the hair. Really cute.
The town center is on the west side of the highway. I drop Mike off at academy and go to HL and Target. Belks is a good store. A lot like Dillards but has better sales, I think.

Good Morning Miz Darlene,
I can't believe how much money you made at your yard sale(!!!) but it's because you keep your little fashion diva dressed to the nines and had all those too cute outfits to sell *smiles* I would have to beg people to take my son's clothes, he looks like he picks thru the rag bag! Definitely not Mr GQ! *smiles*
Love your hummingbird pictures. So far I've not been able to see any at our feeder but I'm inspired by you to try again today. Now that I have my porch all pretty it won't be a hardship to watch the feeder for activity. Have a wonderful day my friend!!!

Hope Chelsea is better quickly. Our old dog Katie has had several tumors removed. The vet says they just get bumpy.

Your hummingbirds are beautiful. You should be so proud of your pictures. They are hard to capture.

I'm so sorry your Chelsea had to have surgery, and I hope that she quickly recovers.

Lexi's hair looks as if its been crimped.

The hummingbirds are facinating to watch. Seems like I am cooking up "food" for them every other day. Your pictures are wonderful.

Lexi's hair turned out cute...something different anyway.

I love hummingbirds so much, but I haven't had as many visit this year for some reason. Lexi's hair is so CUTE! She should wear it like that more often.

Lexi looks adorable with her braided hair.

I've had two poodles and I'm partial to them. I hope the surgery goes well and she's better soon.

Hugs,
Gretchen

Lexi's hair looks cute! Of course, Lexi always looks cute.

Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog although when I see pictures of you, it sure doesn't look like you've gained weight this summer. You look great!

Congratulations on all the money you made from your yard sale, I wish I could get my act together to sell The Son's old clothes, he has lots of nice things but I just can't do it yet for some reason.

Have a great Wednesday!

Lexi looks adorable! I hope your pup pulls through with no complications. I hate leaving my beasts at the vet.

Sending happy thoughts and prayers for your poodle.

I do that to Kaylas hair every once in a while. It reminds me of the days of crimpers from the 80's. It gives almost the same effect.

Good Morning ~ This is a great post! I love hummingbirds...wonderful photos. I hope that your sweet Chelsea is feeling better soon. Our pets love us so much and steal our hearts...my heart just breaks when they are not feeling well. She is in my prayers.

Love the hair...I used to "crimp" my older daughter's hair all the time...how fun. I love summer and summer hair!

Sorry to hear about your poodle but glad you are able to get her help. We have had so many vet bills with sheep, cows and dogs. But it is worth it when they are precious to you. I can't say any of the cows have been precious to me....but....big smile.
Mr. Farmer takes care of all his animals! Lexi looks adorable!

Debbie

I love Lexi's hair like that. She looks so sweet. My little girl--now 32--was so sweet when she was little and still is.
We love the hummers, too but they seem to prefer the flowers to the nectar until fall when things dry up.
Have a great week!!!

Great pictures! I didn't have much luck with my feeder this year. It kept leaking and drew the attention of several different types of birds, just rarely hummingbirds. :)

Hi Darlene
Thanks for showing the gorgeous pictures of your hummingbirds. they are smaller than I imagined. We do not have them in England and I had seen pictures on other blogs and always imagined then to be bigger.
Lexi's hair looks great she is so pretty.
Hope Chelsea is doing ok and your yardsale money is helping her.

Hi Darlene,
It's me, the slacker blogger. My goodness you stinker. Thank you for your purchases. By the time I published the post about my items, two of them (as you know) were gone. I thought...Oh no, something went wrong when I tried to list some of my things on Etsy. So I went to check it out and they were of course SOLD. I hope you'll love them. Sara made me PROMISE to make them again for us.
Kudos on the Garage Sale totals. And how precious that you used them for your sweet Chelsea. Give us a report later.
Take care,
M.L.

Hope your little Chelsea is doing OK...it's so hard to see a little animal have to deal with health issues. I am glad you made tons of money at your pre-garage sale in order to help pay for the vet bill!! I hit a few g.sales today, but struck out...sometimes you hit the g.sale jackpot and sometimes you don't...I didn't. :) That's OK, it was still enjoyable.

Lexi's new "do" looked like fun--sometimes we just need a change. I loved seeing your hummers and the robin in the birdbath--you've captured some really great bird moments!

Hope all is well! Looking forward to seeing "Julie and Julia" on Friday!! L, Dana

Please give Chelsea a hug for me... I hope she's better soon.

The humming bird feeders are really cool too. I keep meaning to buy my Mom one for an occasion. : )
