A Yummy Meal.....

We had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. My parents came into town and we had a delicious meal last night. Cornbread, cornbread sticks, apple pie (in this pic.).
I had hopped on Barb's Bella Vista blog and she was showing some cookbooks and showed a page from a new Gooseberry Patch cookbook that had the recipe for Fiesta Chicken Casserole on it. I thought it looked good so I made it.
We all gave it a thumbs up and said we would make it again. I added more salsa on top of mine.
Last but not least, apple pie with Blue Bell homemade vanilla ice cream. No, I didn't make the pie from scratch but tried a Sara Lee one. We all agreed that we like Mrs. Smith's better. My crust also got a little too brown...oops!

Hope you all are having a great Tuesday.

Mmmmmmm. That looks so yummy. I love pie and ice cream. Mrs. Smiths is my fave too but I will buy what's on sale.

We ate so much this weekend I thought I would pop! Guess that's what holiday weekends are about. :)

Hey Miz Darlene,
Those cornbread sticks look yummy! I have a stick pan but each time I've tried to use it my sticks stick to the pan *smiles* I've been working on building up seasoning it in but that can be a long tedious task. Your dinner looks great!!! Have a wonderful week!

That certainly looks like a very tasty meal. I love apple pie. I was just talking about that with friends at lunch time. I'd rather have a fruit pie over cake or cookies. YUM!

I'll have to go look up that chicken recipe.

take care,
Dawn

So glad you had a great Labor Day with your parents. We spent part of ours with our son, DIL and Grands. It was also a good one.

I'm getting ready for my first sale of the season (Saturday)...it's outside and it's supposed to rain! :( Yes, Bonnie will be painting Santas, snowmen and witches on the ironing boards. I'll be sure to share photos of her creations!
