Softball Party.....

It was another great weekend here in Oklahoma. Wonderful weather and fun stuff. On Friday night, Lexi went with a friend's family to the OU women's basketball game in Norman and then spent the night. Saturday, a friend and I went to a couple of craft shows in town, and Saturday evening/night there was a cookout for the girls softball team. Lexi wasn't on the Fall team, but she is on the Summer league and the tournament league with these girls, so we were invited too. This is on one of the coach helper's land.....they have 40 acres and are planning on building a home there. Hubby Alan (in the red hat) is helping cook the hamburgers, hot dogs and sausages they had.....YUM!
Lexi and her daddy.♥
This was a big bon fire that was built in another area.
It was starting to get dark. Lexi and I had walked to their dry creek bed. It was pretty big, see the tree roots all behind her? The banks were high above our heads. Lexi was a bit "scary" because her friend (that her parents own the land) said they have seen wild hogs, deer, turkey and coyotes on the land. Of course, with all the screaming, running, playing kids, there were not going to be any around.....but I couldn't convince Lexi of that!
She had to take a picture on their big, red tractor.
What cookout would be complete without smores? Always a fun thing to make and eat!

What a fun weekend with friends! Our weather took a turn on Sunday afternoon. It has gone from the 70's for highs, to a high today in the mid 50's (with wind chills in the 30's!).....Brrrrrr♥

Sounds like a really fun weekend for Lexi and her parents too. That was a great place for a cookout. We are cold this morning. The cold didn't get here until early this morning but looks like it is here for a while. Hope your Monday is a good one.

Hi Darlene,
It looks like so much fun, and I am glad you had such a good time! :) And Smores are so yummy, too! I have to say, I am really missing that warmer weather! It is hard to get used to winter temperatures again! :)

Also, thank you for all the nice things you said about my kitchen! It gives me the extra encouragement I need to get back in there today and work some more!

I hope you have a wonderful Monday! :)

Looks like fun had by all! You have to enjoy the weather while you have it. We had a beautiful Sat. got up to 65. If we had a more mild winter I wouldn't mind it but when it gets freezing and all that ice and snow...oh, how I wish I was a bear and could sleep ALL winter HA!

Fun fun fun!! I love cooking out like that! My parents have about 45 acres and we go out in the pasture and have cookouts and bonfires. Lexi is so cute!

3 days 10 hours 40 minutes...but who's counting?! :)

Hi Darlene
I enjoyed seeing the pictures from the cook out. I have never been to a cook out. It looks so much fun. I can't imagine having 40 acres of land. Your friends are so lucky having all that space and building their own house. That's my dream.
Hope you are having a lovely Monday.

Hi Darlene, the softball gathering looks like so much fun. Good food and smores. Mmmmmm. We do that in the summer. The river bed did look a bit scary. A wonderful piece of property. Lexi on the tractor is cute. Love the photo of Lexi and her daddy.

Your weather is a bit radical. Ours is too, this time of year.

I LOVE cookouts and bonfires! That looks the perfect place for such fun! Glad the critters (specially those WILD HOGS!) stayed away! :)

Don't you just love this time of year with all of the arts/crafts sales and open houses? I could go to something every day and not get bored with them!

The weather here is cold and wet (and a bit snowy). What happened to the warm, fall days?

Take care! L, Dana

Oh, my... the tractor Lexi is on is just like my Hubby's! Tell her she is a REAL farm girl now- red tractors are the best! (Hubby says Lexi needs an International Harvester hat to wear... I told him I didn't think so... *LOL*)
Looks like a wonderful time, Darlene!
