Stuffed Bell Peppers and Apple Pie (Dump) Cake...

I have to tell you that I have been cooking a lot more than I ever have, and I am really starting to enjoy it. Last night, with my parents still in town, I decided to make Stuffed Peppers with Ground Beef and Rice (click on the name for the recipe) for us. It was delicious! I had never made anything like that before and it turned out great. Here are my pretty, washed green peppers.
I set a simple fall table for the meal.
Here they are just out of the oven....YUM!
The meal was stuffed bell peppers, green beans, french toast w/garlic and peach tea. We all stuffed ourselves. But, we managed to save room for dessert.
Dessert was Apple Pie Cake or Dump Cake as I call it. I haven't had this in a long time, but I saw the recipe here on Manuela's blog, The Pleasures of Homemaking and it is soooooo easy and delicious!
We added our favorite vanilla ice cream to it and pigged out. If you ever need an easy dessert, this is definitely it. Gotta tell you it is also delicious for breakfast!
My parents are leaving today to drive back home to Houston. I'll miss them, but it won't be long before they are back in town again for Thanksgiving.♥

Best part of cooking is having people who like to eat (non-picky type) to be at the table. Your pie/cake sounds great tasting. I have made it many times only using cherry pie filling in place of the apple...so good that way too!

That all looks really deicious. I'm not sure what my crew would do if I put peppers in front of them for dinner but I may try it one night cause I love them.
That glass of tea looks really good too.

My mom always made stuffed peppers when we were growing up--I need to make some here. The cake looks delicious--I am all for anything quick and easy. I have company coming in soon and it sounds perfect. So glad you had this time with your parents Darlene.

The recipe lost me at "one stick of melted butter" but it sure does look DELICIOUS. I wonder if I could lighten it up. I might have to show it to my weight loss guru.

The stuffed peppers look yummy too. I might have to try those out. Yum!

Have great day Darlene!

Your peppers look DELISH!! I am going to try those real soon. I have made that dump cake and it's so easy. You can even substitute cherry or strawberry pie filling and have a different taste.

Hi Darlene, your stuffed peppers look soooo good. I make them but not for quite a few months. In the cooler months I cook and bake more than usual. I love to make soups and stews too. I have made a dump cake before but I use crushed pineapple and cherries or blueberry pie filling. It is very good as well.

Yes, it does seem like I am always going somewhere, starting with this past summer. I am also quite busy with lots of company in the fall. To tell the truth I am ready to stay home for a while. I know when we get our puppy next weekend we will stay put for a while. I am looking forward to some puppy time.

I know how special it is to have your parents visiting. I used to love the time mine would come for a visit. I miss them so much. Now our children look forward to our visits. I am happy for that.

Have a wonderful evening. It was fun having some time with our grands on Halloween. Are you teaching Lexi to cook? I know your parents adore her. So do I.

Hugs, xoxo, Jeanne

What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.
