Creations for the Second Mini Society.....

I decided to link our Mini Society projects to Kimba's DIY Day at A Soft Place to Land.
I wanted to share with you what we made for Lexi's Mini Society. Just what is a Mini Society? Go here and see. We made beaded bracelets, salt dough ornaments and Christmas locker magnets.

I first saw salt dough ornaments on Cathy's blog called Cobblestone Farms here, she has the recipe on her side bar. These ornaments are thinner than the ones she makes, and we baked ours about an hour and 20 minutes.
Sorry for this bad picture. We made snowflakes and Christmas trees from cookie cutters and they turned out great. It was fun and we will definitely do this again.

Here is an up-close shot of some of the beaded bracelets.
Our Christmas locker/refrigerator magnets.

Lexi also made a little video. Hope your Monday is great! Lexi is now out of school for the next two weeks. I'll try to visit all of you as I can.♥

She is so adorable! As soon as The Son heard her voice on the video he came running over to see her and I must say, he too thinks she's adorable. I guess he likes older women. The ornaments look like fun and I'm sure everything will sell well... keep us posted!

Dear Darlene, I just watched Lexi's video and I can't stop smiling. She did a great job with her presentation. A star in the making. The handmade items are darling. I especially love the salt dough ornaments. We have made Santa's out of salt dough in the past and we had to bake them MUCH longer. Maybe because they were FAT. Laughing. Lexi is just the prettiest little thing.

We did take our big truck to visit our son in Tenn. this weekend. It was scary getting down our driveway and up to the highway but we made it. I took photos of the trees along the road. It was amazing and beautiful. We arrived home on Sunday night. Our snow is still deep and now frozen. If it melts a little we will make that snowman for Lexi.

We leave for Florida for a week, so I will not be blogging much if at all.

May Peace be your gift at Christmas and your blessing all year through!

Christmas love and hugs, Jeanne

Hi Darlene
What a wonderful exercise that was for Lexi and her classmates! I love the idea. The products you two made were a great idea...and she did so well with their sale too. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Darlene, Lexi is so precious! She did a great job on video and all of her projects are fabulous! I'll have to show Ashley her bracelets. That would be a neat thing for the cheerleaders to make and sell for homecoming. We have homecoming during basketball season. (Private football) They are just so cute and the basketball bead was the perfect touch! :)

If I don't make it over here before Christmas, I want to wish you and your family a very blessed and Merry Christmas, my friend! ~hugs, Rhonda :)
