Picnik, Final Christmas, Misc., and Recipes....

Added at 1:00 p.m. I am watching it rain outside and I see snow flurries mixed in. It is very wet and not sticking because we are at about 38*, but as of about 1:40 p.m. it is all snow falling. This is the 4th snowfall in December 2009 and what a beautiful end to 2009!
On my final post for 2009, I have several things to share. First, Michelle from The Yellow House started talking about Picnik and showing her photographs and saying how fun and easy this site was. Well, I had to go check it out and I definitely agree. I never had a clue how people made collages and added those little extras. Now I kind of feel like a pro....hehehe. Thanks so much, Michelle! This collage is of some of our Christmas gifts.

Lexi finally got to ride her scooter in a garage next to where I work. The building is not rented out right now and I have a door that opens into it. The ground is still wet and the snow melting so she still can't ride outside. There is no electricity on in this building so she had to bundle up. Fun, FUN!!
LOVE this picture of my Mom, myself and Lexi.....three generations!
This was Mama Kitty's first trip outside (on the driveway) into the snow after it all fell. She had been in her warm beds and cozy spots inside our garage. She didn't know what to think of it and kept going right back into the garage.

The snow was deep and beautiful all over our ordinary outdoor stuff!

We ate and ate all the usual food for Christmas dinner, but by Sunday I was ready for something different, so hubby and I made this.....The Best Lasagna. Ever. by The Pioneer Woman. My parents and brother were still here and we all agreed it IS the best lasagna ever!!!!

As we close out the year, I will be trying this recipe. We always eat black-eyed peas on New Year's Day for good luck and this soup looks delicious. Hope you all have a wonderful New Year's Eve. Be careful if you go out anywhere. We will just be chillin', probably watching movies and I'll be trying my best to stay awake and see the New Year in!!!!!
I look forward to blogging with all of you in 2010.♥

Those picnik pictures look great. I'll have to give it a try. That recipe sounds wonderful---well, both recipes. I hope you have a wonderful New Year. 2010. I'm going to have to get used to not putting two zeroes. My husband calls it oh-ten. HA!!

Love the new look with pictures...I have heard of piknik but don't think I have played around with it.

Not doing anything special for New Year's eve...had plans but due to family illness of our nvited guests it was put off. But New Year's day we will be doing our Christmas celebrating (because of the weather).

Happy New Year!

Good job with the pictures & I'm so glad Lexi got to ride her scooter. I'm pretty sure the cat has the right idea staying inside.
Have a good New Year's Eve & a wonderful 2010!

Hi Darlene! What a nice "end of year post". You still have snow? All our snow melted a few days after C'mas, but it's actually snowing again right this minute as I type.

Thanks so much for sharing the Picnick info. Like you, I've always kinda wondered how everyone did that. I'll be playing with that for sure!

Good to know about the lasagna recipe, too. We'll have to give it a try. As for the black-eyed peas . . . I dunno . . . I would like it, but the rest of my family . . . not so much I'm afraid. Although, based on lack of luck we've had this past year, maybe we should have a little plateful. ;o)

You and your mother and daughter are just beautiful. What a sweet picture keepsake.

Happy New Year to you and all your family,

I love the Picnik pictures, too, Darlene! I'm gonna check it out!

Your pictures were wonderful...looks like Lexi enjoyed getting to ride her new gift!

Love the 3 Generations picture, too!

I think I saw one of The Stone Rabbit's cousins nearly covered in snow! TSR feels very fortunate that he gets to live inside our home these days! :) He did spend many a winter outdoors, however.

Right now, we have sun, but the temps are frigid!

Getting ready to meet up with my family for lunch!

I hope you have a wonder New Year's Eve....I have a package of black-eyed peas I'm gonna put in my crock pot!

L, Dana

Dear Darlene, your post is lovely and I am sorry I missed the previous one. We took two days to come home and life is busy trying to catch up with all I neglected since leaving for Florida last week. (like laundry) We have a mix of rain and snow today and it is messy. We were out this afternoon trying to clear snow and put ice down on our driveway.

The photo of the three generations is priceless. I can see why Lexi loves her scooter. Out CC does not love the snow either. Cute photos of your cat. Is that midnight? CC has doubled her size already.

Your Christmas collage is so sweet. I want to learn how to do that. My New Years resolution. (one of them)

Thank you for the sweetest comment Darlene. I so feel the same way. I am so thankful for the friends I have made through blogging. You are a blessing to me.

I found this messae I am sharing with my blogging friends.
Each moment in a day has its own value.
Morning brings HOPE,
Afternoon brings FAITH,
Evening brings LOVE,
Night brings REST,
Hope you will have all of them everyday.

Love, Jeanne

Darlene I wanted to stop back by and tell you that I highly recommend the kitty heating pads--we have two of them. There are both indoor and outdoor versions. I know your cats will love them. You can get them in any pet store and I'm sure online as well.

I love your pics and I plan to look up this picnik. I have really enjoyed getting to know you and Lexie---you and your mother have shared that gorgeous smile with Lexie!
Lasagna is so hard to make for 2 people but if Pioneer Woman says this is th ebest and you have proven it, I will give it a try, too. I can always divide it into 2 pans and freeze one.
Many blessings to you and yours for 2010!!!

That pic of your 3 generations is a keeper, very pretty! You should have it blown up and give it to your mom in a frame.

Hope you are having a good weekend. I'm off to put the holiday decorations away. A big job but I can't wait to see how it looks in here again without all the clutter.
