Recipes, New Pretties and Snow on your Blog.....

I wanted to share with you a couple of new recipes we had over the Thanksgiving holidays. First, was this Pumpkin Bread from Jen at Lipstick and Laundry and let me tell you it is delicious! If you went over and got the recipe from her when she first posted it, go get it again here because 1 tsp. cinnamon was left off. She has fixed it so print it off again. Lexi is a fairly picky eater and she says that this MUST be made weekly!!!!...lol
Then, I was watching the Food Network and saw this recipe for Cinnamon Apple Cranberry Sauce and thought it looked good and easy so we tried it with our Thanksgiving dinner. It is a definite keeper and the house smells so wonderful while it is cooking. I can't wait to have it again at Christmas.

I've also been shopping on Etsy (imagine that!!!!!) and bought these two adorable stuffed heart ornaments from Mary Lou at House of Whimsy. She is always putting new, cute things in her shop.
Also, Mary Lou reminded me that many of us had it snowing on our blogs last year. You can click here and let it snow on yours. (If you have any problem with my blog loading or going slower, please let me know in the comments, and I'll take the snow off. I have had a comment that some blogs load slower because of it. I have tried my blog on another computer and haven't had a problem with it being slow.)

Also, Ramona from A Day in the Life of Ramona has been crafting away and I had to have this wonderful red jingle bell burlap pillow. I love it and she still has these in her shop. Stop by and look at all of her new creations. You might find something you can't live without!
Hope you all have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend. We will be going to our downtown Christmas parade on Saturday. Lexi will be in it with her Jump-n-Jive group.♥

Good morning! Your blog is looking so pretty. I tried to get it to snow on mine last year and It looked weird for some reason. I never seem to have the time to revamp my blog anyway... ugh!

Your recipes look great. I tried to make my own cranberry sauce and it was not so successful, probably because I used a "Splenda" recipe and I guess some things just shouldn't be reduced calorie-wise. ha ha! Yours looks delish! Glad it worked out for you. Have a great Friday Lady!

Love the red and white pillow. Thanks for the snow widget idea...I added it to mine...seems like the right thing to do this cold Dec. morning.

Have fun and try to stay warm at the parade.

Those ornaments and that pillow are adorable, Darlene! Oh, let us not forget those yummy foods! Have lots of fun at the parade and stay warm!

They all look delish - have fun at that parade, maybe you'll have more snow.

Now I have to debate whether to use your recipe for cranberry sauce, Darlene, or my friend Mary's! Both look good.

Love your pillows!!! They are so cute.

I have found that snow on the blogs is what is slowing them down to a speed that won't let things load very fast. I think BJ was the one whose blog was loading slow, and she figured out it was the snow. It's hard to post, too, with the snow. It makes the keyboard hesitate. I read it in your title, but I didn't see anything about it in this post. So I thought you might be getting ready to edit.

Love to you and Miss Lexi and hope you have fun at the parade! Glad she's feeling better.

XO,

Sheila :-)

Thanks for the link to the snow effect. I decided that maybe if it snowed on my blog, it wouldn't snow here. Wishful thinking! Yummy looking goodies!

As usual, you're a sweetie for giving a "shout out" about Etsy. Thank you so much!!!
I love where you placed the hearts. : )
And thanks for sharing these new recipes. I love to hear about "tried and true" ones, rather than wasting my time with ones I won't enjoy.
About the glitter idea...I got the idea when I saw other bloggers storing their glitter in Salt and Pepper shakers. I know...my mind is warped, I'm convinced. : )
Have a wonderful weekend. I'm sure Lexi will do a great job.

Now I am supposed to be sewing...but those recipes look so delicious that I might just have to stop and make pumpkin bread for dinner! I think that pumpkin bread should be a food group!

I love that your Etsy finds have found a wonderful home...thank you.

Have a wonderful weekend...we are flirting with snow over the next few days...fun, fun and ho, ho, ho!

Hello Darlene, it is really late and I haven't done my Pinkie post yet. LOL. this will be quick. First I love your snow blog. You were probably influenced by the real stuff you had. smile. We are getting snow tonight and tomorrow. I love it. I hope Lexi is feeling better and I bet she didn't mind a snow day.

Your pumpkin bread and the cranberry stuff looks great. I am having 12 people for a fancy dinner on Sun. I am frantic getting the decorating done before then. LOL.
Love the ornaments with the puffy look.

Gotta go, my hubby is calling me to bed. He has no idea I still have to post for Pink Sat. sigh. CC will have me up very early. A nap tomorrow.

Love ya, Jeanne
