The Robin's Bath....

One of the things I love to do is sit on our pool deck and watch the birds come to the birdbath. This pretty robin decided it was bath time! Enjoy!

More From Bricktown.....

Here are some more pictures from the Bricktown area of Oklahoma City right around the ballpark. There is a big canal and they give water taxi rides. It is really pretty around the canal. I am hoping to go back when it is cooler and explore some of the areas more.

This is a big mural painted across several billboards. It is soooo pretty.
We didn't get to eat here on the last trip, but if you are ever in the Bricktown area it is a fun place with good food. Also, you might get to see Toby Keith. I have heard he is there quite a bit.

Redhawks Ballgame.....

Last Friday, while we were on vacation, we went to the Bricktown area of Oklahoma City and attended a minor league Redhawks baseball game.
This is one of the statues outside of the ballpark.
On the night we went it was Livestrong night. We received a baseball and a yellow Livestrong bracelet. This is Lance Armstrong's Foundation in the fight against cancer. You can see more about it here.
Can you see (the back of) Alan and Lexi in our seats? We were right at the first base corner about 8 rows up. Great seats!
Lots of action and it was a fun game!
Here is the score in the 7th inning. The Redhawks played the Nashville Sounds and were behind until they got tied at 5 to 5. Then the Redhawks went on to win the game 9 to 5. YAY!!
It was the first time we had been and we look forward to going back to some more games. On my next post, I'll show you some more fun pictures from around the ballpark.

Today's Thrifty Treasures.....

Be sure and stop by at Rhoda's Southern Hospitality and see all of the great finds from this week. I stopped at a couple of places and here is a picture of everything. Oh, I forgot to include a baseball bat, a little bigger than what Lexi is using now for $1.00.

I finally found a small little step stool. I can't wait to try my hand at re-covering it! It was $3.00.

A nice cookbook from Paula Deen. A lot of the recipes look pretty simple and delicious. In my quest to cook more at home, I think this will come in quite handy. It was $1.00.

A set of 4 pretty dessert plates. They each have a different picture and are trimmed around the plate in pastel colors. They were in a pretty box with a tag on the bottom from Marshall's originally costing $12.99, my cost was $2.00.

This large wicker basket was $3.00. I have it in the bedroom with a couple of small quilts in it. Love it!

Frontier City.....

Lots of pictures!!!! On Wednesday we went to Frontier City. Lexi got to take a friend to ride on the rides with her. I can ride a few, but not many anymore. Hubby gets sick on almost everything.

I rode this one. It took you way up high and dropped you! FUN!!

It is really pretty throughout the park and set up like an old time town.

This one I rode also. It was like a slingshot and you went from the ground WAY high up in the air and "boinged" around a few times. I LOVED it!

The Mindbender. The girls were scared to ride it but finally did. Then they rode it several times.

Yep, it goes all the way around and hangs upside down a couple of times. No way for me!!!

One of the fast roller coasters with an upside down loop. They went on it over and over.

They also had a ball riding the bumper cars.

Amusement parks always have great shows. This one was Survivor Live and the dancers were great!

We had a great time in the park. The temp. was high 80's to low 90's with a breeze all day and was very pleasant. We ended up in the park for about 9 hours. This is a smaller park with GREAT rides. None of us had ever been there before and we loved it. I have a bunch more pictures, so when I have nothing to post, I'll post some more pictures.

WaterWorks in Denton, Texas.....

The play ended and it was a great success. The kids had their cast swimming party on Sunday and we are now on vacation, and just doing things close to home. On Monday we went to a fun water park. I think I had as much fun as Lexi and the weather was PERFECT! There was a chance of rain, so the temps. were in the high 80's and I would guess there were only about 50 people in the park at any given time......as I said PERFECT!

I decided to go on this slide and it scared me to death!!!! Pitch black and zooming up and down the walls!!!! They knew I was coming down cause they could hear me screaming the whole way!! That was the ONLY time I went on it. I liked the orange slide MUCH better!!!!.....lol

Cruising around in the lazy river. It was sooooo relaxing!

This was the kiddie area. It was really neat with all the splashing, sprinkling and pouring things.

Lexi has been to this water park before, when she went to the YMCA day camp a couple of summers. It was mine and Alan's first time and we loved it. If you live anywhere in the area, I would definitely recommend it.

We are on vacation this week, but just doing things around the area. I'll be sure to visit you as I can. On Monday we are headed to a water park in Denton, Texas. I'm sure it will be lots of fun!

Summer Play ~ Willy Wonka....

Last night at 7:00 was the opening performance of Willy Wonka. They also had a final dress rehearsal where we could take pictures and the YMCA day camp got to come and watch at 2:30 yesterday. Lexi is in the very front kneeling here.
They are wearing their own clothes for this scene. In the opening scene they are all candy man kids. The boy in the top hat played Willy Wonka.

Lexi had an actual part and played Matilda (a candy man kid). This was where three of them were singing a song and Lexi had a solo through part of it. The boy in the picture is the one that played Charlie.
There were eight of them in this dance scene.

Lexi was also a chef in a song called "I Eat More" which was from Augustus Gloop (one of the kids that found a golden ticket). She is the second from the right in the picture (holding a carrot) and her hat was too big. I put some stitches in the back to make it smaller for the actual night time performance.

Now she is an Oompa Loompa. She is in the bright orange wig.

I have to tell you the plays are always wonderful and entertaining. We have some VERY talented children here in our area. The play still runs Friday and Saturday night at 7:00 and Sunday at 2:30. After the Sunday performance they will have a big pool party for the cast. What FUN!!!
