Oh, they're so beautiful, Darlene! We have lots and lots of redbirds too but it is such a thrill when a woodpecker comes to the feeders.I keep suet cakes out for the woodies and they really go to town on them, especially this time of year.
So pretty - I just never tire of looking at the birds and the bird pictures.
Gorgeous pictures, Darlene! Bird watching is one of my favorite things to do!
I love bird watching. When we lived in NC we had about 4 different kinds of woodpeckers that would come to our feeders and of course cardinals are always beautiful.
Great pictures. Don't you just love this sun?
Just gorgeous! I have this same suet feeder (and amazingly, VERY similar woodpecker eating from it!) in my back yard! I can't tell you how much work has been neglected at my house because I can't stop watching these beautiful creatures out my back window! Thanks for sharing yours!!
I never get tired of watching the birds at our house. We've had so much snow this winter that the feeders have been really busy. The cats love watching from the kitchen window too!
I have got to come to your house and watch the birds! I never see one in my yard. But then again we don't feed them. Hmmm. That's got to be the problem!
Hi Darlene, Your bird watching pics are beautiful! I could spend hours looking at those feeding outside my windows. We haven't had many cardinals this year...if any. They must all be hanging out at your home! LOL! ~hugs, Rhonda :)
Enjoy the sun today!Smiles,Carol
Darlene, Darlene, Darlene ~This is a great post! I absolutely love the woodpecker. You are quite the photographer my dear. Magazine quality, for sure.Have a great mid~week.Smiles ~ Ramona
Just beautiful..We see them here too..I just love Mother Nature..hope you have a wonderful day..Stay warm..Hugs
You really did a good job in capturing the red in the birds. Beautiful.
they are so grateful for your aid...it has been a hard go this year...love the creatures great and small!
I am so jealous to see red cardinals on all these blogs...they are so beautiful and I have never seen one in real life..never! We have pretty little blue birds here. Thanks for sharing them! Come say hi :D
Gorgeous colors on the woodies, and the red is so royal on the cardinals. Good visit!Yoli :)
Hi DarleneDid you personally take pics of all of those cardinals??? They are GORGEOUS. You know what I would do is print the whole collage of birds and frame them. They are such majestic birds.Hope you are having a great dayJudi
Your bird photos are wonderful, Darlene! I miss our old house, cuz we used to have lots of birds there. In this new house, we don't get a lot of them cuz we are "tree impaired"! :)I tried one of the Kraft recipes last night....Parmesan, Chicken and Broc Pasta. It also had a lot of sodium in the original version, but I tweaked the amount of sal dressing (it's loaded) and added water instead. The sauteed garlic gives it tons of good flavor without so much of the dressing. I also didn't have spaghetti, so I used "Barilla Plus Rotini" instead. It was very good! Thanks for putting me onto that Kraft link! It's sunny in MO today...still cold, but sunny! Dana
Hi DarleneYour bird pictures are really beautiful. The bird are such stunning bright colors. We have woodpeckers over here but they are just brown.Lindsayx
Wow I have a sweet woodpecker who comes to eat my suet but yours is gorgeous.
Love the vibrant reds against the greys! Each morning as Bear and I eat our breakfast we sit by the window talking about the kinds of birds at the feeder. It's always a little thrilling when a bright colored blue jay or woodpecker come along!
I LOVE bird watching!! Those pictures of the cardinals are GORGEOUS!!! The deep red against the white snow is so beautiful! Thanks for sharing!Hope you guys are having a great week!!♥
Pictures of the birds are beautiful! But, I'm kind of partial to the beautiful black cat!
Those pictures are beautiful!
Fantastic photos Darlene!
Hi Darlene, busy day today and my visiting was left until now. I read your comment this morning and I thought about how much fun it would be for you to visit. It would be a cheap vacation and this part of NC is awesome. We have the Smokey Mountain National Park only an hour away. Trails, waterfalls, and my view. come on and pack your bags. I so mean it Darlene. The cabin is empty so much of the year. You can even bring the pets. Think about it.I adore your bird photos Darlene. What could be more of a thrill than a beautiful bird. We love birds too.Hugs xoxo, Jeanne
Darlene, I adore Cardinals. I could watch them all day!Barb ♥
Hi Darlene! Wow....such beautiful pictures. I love them. Love that dark red....those birds are beautiful. You really take great pictures. We have a beautiful bird with a bright orange chest...but I only have blurry and fuzzy pictures. Hahaha...I need a better camera I know! Anyhow I will enjoy yours.Blessings,Debbie
What a handsome red-bellied woodpecker! The pattern on their backs is so stunning! We have three kinds of woodpeckers around my house - red-bellied, downy, and the northern flicker- but I've also heard a pileated woodpecker (the ones that look like Woody Woodstock with the big crest on their heads) in the woods behind our cove. We also have tons of cardinals, but your pictures are absolutely gorgeous. One of my favorite things to do on a snowy day is take pictures of the cardinals!
Wow, these are beautiful pictures! You did a wonderful job capturing their beauty on camera! I love the red birds! Our birds are not nearly so colorful, except for the blue jay! :) (But they are quite cocky, and sound too much like a crow!)I hope you have a beautiful day! :)
Afternoon, Darlene! OH, how gorgeous. Such a beautiful mosaic. You know, I never thought it was very fair for the guy birds to have all the pretty color! Stinkers! Thanks for popping in and YAY! No more snow. You're going to be putting on shorts and sitting out in the sunshine! :) Be a sweetie,Shelia :)
Lovely bird pictures on this cold and dreary day! Love them!
Awesome! We share a great love for nature. I love how you 'picniked' them, too. We have a lot of woodpeckers here--several different kinds, too. We put our feeders right out the window so we can watch them. It's one of the few positive things about winter...LOL★ Linda
Oh my, Darlene, these are wonderful pictures. Did you take the first one of the Woodpecker? It's just gorgeous!!!Mary Lou
They are coming out here in the deep south and Lexi told me last night we needed to get some birdseed for the birds.
