I thought I would share Valentine decorations around my home. First, how about a piece of cake while you are browsing. It is a funfetti cake mix with strawberry whip icing and sprinkles.....YUM!
These are our decorations in the living room and there are a few more from a previous post here.
This is in the hall on top of the small cabinet. I made the little Love box last year.
This is the best thing ever and Lexi absolutely LOVES it. I saw it on several blogs last year and we have adopted the tradition. We have a little metal mailbox for each of us. I didn't even decorate them. Each day I put a little treat (ex: gum, pencils, notes, candy, stickers, etc.) in Lexi's mailbox and about every other day in Alan's. Lexi also has some treats that she gets to put in my or her daddy's mailbox. She also writes little notes or makes hearts or anything else she can think of. She thinks it is so much fun to check for mail (the little flag gets raised if something is put in the box) and has a ball with surprising us, with things in our mailbox. We usually do this from Feb. 1st until Valentine's Day but the instant she saw these come out we had to start.
Hope you all enjoyed your cake and stop back by anytime.♥

Cute idea & my cake was a delicious breakfast.
Good morning Darlene. Come over I have something to show Lexi. And you too of course.
I adore your valentine header. You are so clever on the computer. I am still challenged but still learning too. Your decorations are all so pretty. Especially the little bird. I do love birds. The most fun of all are the mailboxes. Kind of like the Christmas calendars and a great idea. I know Lexi is loving it!!!
Have a wonderful day.
Hugs, Jeanne

I love the mailbox idea Darlene--how fun that is and it will continue to be a great tradition as the years go on.
That cake looks so delicious--good thing it's at your house and not mine, or I'd be eating waaay to much of it!

what a cute idea! your house is just one love shack with all of the cute decor! have a great one!
Darlene, I came over to tell you that you CAN keep skiing. I started skiing 'at your age' and at age 50 I won a silver medal for downhill racing. We belonged to a ski club in Florida and skied for many years. Our club members always participated. The time you have to beat is a professional skier's time that is set each day. This happened in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. LOL. All the ski resorts out west have official organized racing for anyone who wants to try it. I was always afraid every time I did it but being in a group there was no backing out. I should post this huh? Laughing. We sure have the weather for the subject. Also, don't worry about Lexi. Kids are amazing in how fast they learn skiing. Plus she is already so good at sports etc. She would do well at skiing.
Note: I just wanted to mentioned that Ashley, our grand in the photos yesterday, is who Lexi reminds me of. Can you see why?
Have a wonderful day.
Hugs, Jeanne
The mailboxes are super cute. I love that idea.
I love the new header. How on earth did you manage to catch the two birds together? What great luck!
Love your little mailboxes. We used to have one for Christmas but never thought to do it for Valentines. Maybe I should do it for the grands.... ★Linda
PS: very tasty cake, thank you!
Hey there Darlene ~ This is precious! You are making memories that will last forever. I love Valentine's Day...it is the sweetest of holidays and one of my favorites since childhood.

Hi Darlene, the snow here has just been cleared away by the plows and we had one sunny day yesterday. Today the clouds are moving back in and more snow/ice is due by tomorrow morning--yuck! There's been nothing new going on to post about, just watching the snow melt, drip, drip, drip!
Look how cute, Darlene! Love that mailbox. And the cake... YUM!
XO,
Sheila :-)
Agree with everyone: "Great idea!!!" (i'm saying this with cake crumbs on my lips) LOL.

ms darlene, i just want to thank you for all your visits. i enjoy your presence :) as you always make me smile.
Hi Darlene,
All of your Valentine's Day decorations are so pretty! Oh and the cake looks SO good, I'm feeling really hungry all of a sudden! :) That is great about the mailboxes, too! It is so fun! Gracie was reminding me of them right after Christmas, it was all I could do to hold off bringing them out until Jan. 14th! I like how the simple things sometimes make kids the happiest! :) I hope that your week has been good AND that your weekend is too!
Blessings,
Jenni
Just a precious tradition, Darlene. I'm going to pass that one on to my daughter-in-law~!
Cute decor! I like the birdies!
