Dance Recital (Lyrical).....

These pictures are from Lexi's lyrical routine.  Lyrical is a combination between ballet and jazz.  Edited to add:  The song they danced to was Silent All These Years. Look at her jump high in the air!  Lexi has decided she is not going to take lyrical next year but will take jazz instead.
This was supposed to be a FULL DRESS rehearsal.  Notice something in a couple of the collage pictures?  Was I mad?   YES!  The girl wasn't feeling well and didn't want to put on her costume.  I have already complained and I'm SURE that won't ever happen again.  If you are too sick to put on your costume......you are too sick to dance!  I really feel sorry for the parents that had Seniors dancing because this girl is in many of those classes.  So, the last dance pictures they were taking had this girl, not in costume (and to us and I heard many other complaints) ruining their pictures.  Not right AT ALL!

I'll show you her pointe pictures next.  Hope you are having a wonderful Friday.♥

Loved seeing these, Darlene! She is just such a cutie. And I agree about the girl in her regular clothes. What difference does it make if you wear street cloths versus your costume??? Why was she even out there??? She should be home in bed.

XO,

Sheila :-)

Lexi looks so cute!! and that girl stands out like a sore thumb!! She should have sat this one out!

What a graceful jump! So glad you caught that. She will love seeing that for years. Too bad about that girl. Can't imagine why she would do something like that--even if she didn't feel well. If she can dance, she can dress. Thanks for sharing.

Makes me miss Amanda's dance recitals!! LOL! That has been a LONG time ago now! Lexi is just so beautiful dancing! She IS a dancer! I'm with you on the no costume thing! If you don't feel well enough to get dressed, stay home.

Hi Darlene
Great pictures wow they sure do jump up. Lexi would be in fantastic shape.
I agree if the poor dancer isn't well enough to dress how can you expect her to dress. She stands right out..
I was watching the tornados in your neck of the state. yikes. I was hoping all was well with you but you didn't post about it so thats a good thing.

Have a great weekend. This is our long weekend.

I totally would have complained too and I don't think they should have allowed her to dance at all!

But Lexi looks beautiful as always! : )

The "out of costume" girl sure did ruin it for the other girls! Why did they allow that? Go to photoshop and crop her out of the photos! Bad decision by the instructor, I'd say!

Lexi, what a girl! She shines, even with the 'rain cloud' in her pictures!
Have a wonderful day and I hope it' a fun one too :)

Hi Darlene! Oh, I think our little Lexi could just fly if she wanted to. What a darling little thing she is. I'm with you, the girl shouldn't have been allowed to be dancing if she didn't have on her costume. She sticks out like a sore thumb and was probably spreading her germs everywhere. I'm so sorry, But Lexi makes it all okay!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Goodness, Darlene- that Lexi can JUMP!! I'm kind of surprised they let that girl rehearse with everyone, too! I've never heard of Lyrical dance- learn something new every day!
I can't believe how many bad storms have been rolling through your area lately- I always think about you all when I hear about them. Hope you all have a break and have some calm weather for a while!

Hi there Darlene!
I'm glad that you are having warm weather. I hope that the winds don't develope into anything too serious.
Mint is super easy to grow! A great way to grow it , is to cut the bottom out of a large pot....like one that a tree comes in from the nursery, and then sink the pot into the ground. Then plant the mint inside the pot. That way, the mint will thrive, but not take over your garden :)

Happy planting !

I agree with you 100%, not to be a mean stage mom, but that sort of throws everything off for everyone else. Enjoy every minute..i cant tell you HOW MUCH I MISS the Performing Arts my son was in...this is the last set of kids this year that i personally know, they are all going off to college too...you must be so proud! :-)

Couldn't that girl at least have put on her costume for the pictures? She should have politely stepped out when pictures were taken.....your little Lexie is practically air born in that one picture. Maybe you have a professional dancer in the making.....

Lexi is such a beautiful young lady, Darlene. And so accomplished! I love seeing the pictures of her. I would love to see her dance! Do you know how to post video? I don't, but I would love to learn how. Thanks so much for sharing, dear friend.

That girl not in costume makes me mad! What was she thinking??? :( Lori

Loved seeing the lyrical and ballet photos, Darlene! My girl did tap, ballet and lyrical...but finally concentrated on ballet alone for several years. She's 31...and still does a pirouette every now and then! I still get goosebumps when I watch a ballet performance.

Lexi looked beautiful in the photos..yep, I would have been honked at those gals in in costume, to.

Oh Darlene, I so agree with you about the girl who didn't dress. It is such a distraction. Plus she is a big girl and the photos are ruined because of it. However, the girls look darling and especially Lexi. Honestly Darlene, she stands out from the rest. I am not a bit Partial. smile.

I can't wait to see more.
Hugs, Jeanne

Aww. Sorry that one person ruined the pictures. That's sad. I'm surprise the teachers didn't step in.

I love the jump picture. Great catch mom!
