Birds and Squirrels and a Coon..... Oh My!!!

Our pretty birds are visiting away.  We caught these pictures all under and around the bird feeders.  Sweet Cardinal pair, a Blue Jay and Mourning Doves.
The squirrels always keep us entertained.
Lucy went wild barking one afternoon.  We found this little guy/gal up in the tree.  They are such pains, but I think they are just so cute! A little masked bandit.

Hope you are all having great weather.  We have already been hitting the low 90's and they are predicting Saturday a high of 101.  Pool, here we come!!!!!

Good morning Darlene--isn't it fun having backyard birds? I so enjoy the ones that come to my feeder--many the same as yours. We get lots of squirrels who like to hog the food too. That raccoon looks young, I wonder what he was doing out in the day time. The ones in our area usually patrol the feeders after dark!

Great pictures. Those critters are fun to watch. Hot, yes. Enjoy that pool.

Good Morning!
Once again, I think you are so lucky to have some beautiful birds in your area !!
Aahh! I think 90 degree weather sounds divine :) I wish it would get warm enough here, so that I could complain about the heat :)
I'm sure it's right around the corner!! That's Utah for you ..... snow one day, and blistering heat the next :) It has been warm enough that I have been able to hang the clothes out on the line. Loving that !!
Have a great day, and I hope you do something fun !

Yeah, the heat is on! LOL! Those are great photos, Darlene. We have a gang of little racoons, too. They got one of the fish last week! I told Evan I may have to stand guard over the Fish Boys at night! They have fish "caves" to go to, but that one didn't make it... only a fin left behind. Hope they enjoyed their fish dinner. ;)

Such great pictures...even the raccon is cute.

Stay cool best you can with these hot days.

How cute are all of those critters. We have a cardinal couple as well & I love watching them eat from the feeder outside our kitchen.
Stay cool this weekend - it's gonna be a hot one here too.

Wonderful pictures!! Your shots are always so pretty and clear! Good luck with your hot weather, we have had severe thunderstorms everyday for over a week!! Not a good start to summer!

Good morning Darlene, we just arrived home late last night. We had a wonderful time at the graduation and after. Thank you so much for your sweet comment to Bryce. We are very proud of him.

I LOVE your wildlife photos. I too wonder why that little raccoon was out and about during the day.

In Kissimmee on Tuesday it was 96 degrees. We are so happy to get back to our 80 degree days here in the mountains. It rained the whole time we were gone. Our wild berries are growing like crazy. I am going to get some pics of them.

have a wonderful day.
Hugs, Jeanne

PS: I commented on your previous post too.

Hi Darlene
I enjoyed seeing all the wildlife around your home. We have squirrels here but our birds are very different. Glad to hear you have some good weather at the moment. Wish I could join you in your lovely pool today.

These are great shots of your critters!! I try to get good ones of ours but they seem to know what I am doing and fly/run off!!!My bluejay did follow me to the community garden yesterday though..he dug around for worms in the compost while I took photos of the berries!
That coon is so fluffy and healthy looking!! And so are the birds!! The doves are so sweet!
I love seeing photos of your birds you told me about!
I am rambling..have not had any caffeine yet..haha!! Too early!!
It is thundering here this morning..we need a rain shower to cool things off!!
Have a wonderful day!

Wow, sure have some amazing wildlife where you live! Love those colorful birds, but the racooon is definitely my favorite!

The birds are beautiful. I love cardinals, they always remind me of my mom. We love squirrels around here too, The Son has a stuffed squirrel that he calls "Skuggs" which is what Ben Franklin is reported to have called his pet squirrel back in the 1700s. The raccoon is adorable too although I know many consider them unsavory little buggers, he sure looks like you could cuddle up with him and keep him as a pet, doesn't he? ;)

What great pics of the coon! They usually only show up at night around here. I need to get seed in my feeders. My mother-in-law is visiting and commented that she hasn't seen many birds!

Hi Darlene! Oh, what fun looking at all the little creatures! I know those raccoons are little stinkers but aren't they just the cutest things! Have a good day!
be a sweetie,

Great pics Darlene! Enjoy your summer at the pool...We have had rain, rain, rain-EXCEPT for today. Today is sunny (thank God) :)

Everytime Noelle sees a picture of a raccoon she calls it "mommy" - I'm still trying to figure that one out!

Hi Lorrie
oh your pictures are beautiful! I love the vibrant reds and blues of the cardinal and blue jays.
That little masked bandit could be a menace but they are so very sweet aren't they...
love your pictures..isn't this a great time of year and sure beats that cold of winter!

You've got quite the animal show going on at your house! How fun though!

It's hot here too! I was outside last night doing some work in the yard and was sooo hot...and it was almost 9:00pm!

That is truly a delight--having nature's comedians to brighten your days. I especially love the mourning doves. They are so beautiful and romantic. They mate for life and make the most beautiful music.

Love all the wild life that you have...we see birds and squirrels but in town here, that's about it. We did have a coon in a tree one time before, I have no idea where in the world in came from, I know they can climb and all but our yard is fenced in with a big lab! We called the Fish and Wildlife Reserve but since it was a Saturday they wouldn't come out and rescue it. Still not sure where he went. We left the house for the afternoon and when we returned, he was gone.

Hi Darlene, I LOVE all the animals you took pics of in your garden! Those birds are so colorful and so pretty! Great pictures!
I haven't visited for a while, I need to get caught up on your blog!

What a cast of characters. : ) The little raccoon is adorable, but I know they are such pests.

You have so many beautiful birds. What a fun thing to watch.

We have been getting a lot of rain, but with that comes the humidity.

Hey Darlene, this is like a regular petting zoo! Hahahaha....your pictures are so great! I'm always amazed at the poses you get...even from the raccoon. Could he have been more picture perfect? I love it. I know it is is getting hot here too. Have a lovely day girlfriend!

Oh, I love the birds! The pair of cardinals are so pretty! I used to love raccoons, but now I am a little scared of them! They come right up to our back porch, and aren't at all scared of us! At least they don't seem to bother the cats, which is good. (You just cannot put cat food outside or they will eat it all!)

I hope you have a good weekend! It is sure hot where you are! We have been in the 50's this week, and I think that is just TOO COLD!

Enjoy the pool and try to stay cool! :)

Hi Darlene
Thanks for your comment. Start saving up to come over here - all you need is your airfare. You and Lexi can stay here with us and we will take you to Xscape. Jessica would love to do all those fun things with Lexi. There's also Laser Quest and Bowling there. We will take you to other places too. It will be great.

Hi Darlene..
I honestly say, that we rarely ever go to the Malt Shop. I guess it's kind-of like if you own a bakery.... pretty soon the novelty wears off :)
Have you tried the Windex scrubby things? You just wet them (they come with a long pole) and scrub the wet windows and spray them off. I LOVE them! They are a great way to get the outside of the windows sparkling clean :)
Now... if someone could just invent a way to get the inside windows as clean and as easily done!!

Those are amazing shots of the raccoon, Darlene!!!

We have all kinds of critters around here right now too- I looked up from my work yesterday to see a squirrel skittering across our patio table!

LOVED those wildlife photos, Darlene!! We rarely have bluejays at this house (no big trees), but I do see cardinals and dove often. I have to say we don't get squirrels or coons here, either.....and I don't miss those cute little varmints! We had 7 huge OLD trees in our yard at the old house...each contained DOZENS of squirrel nests and hundreds of squirrels (OK...that was an exaggeration, but we had a ton of them). THEY even chewed through our cable TV line!! That's when I really started to dislike them! We also had the occasional opossum
and deer trek through our yard! Here....just rabbits...lots and lots of rabbits, but you know how much I love bunnies!

It's supposed to hit in the 90s here again tomorrow. No Spring...just Summer, this year! At least it's no SNOWING!

Have a great weekend! L, Dana

Wonderful pictures, Darlene! Don't you just love birdwatching? I enjoy seeing the same little birdies every morning at my feeders. (I call them the "regulars"... *grin*)
I put out my Hummingbird feeders last week and they're already fighting over it!
