The Turtle is Back......

We have seen it cruising around on our back porch the past four days.  We have also finally found where it sleeps though the day, in some tall groundcover type grass right off the patio.  What is really amazing is that Lucy is just ignoring it now when she sees it.  YAY!
How fun to have a backyard turtle now.  Hope you all enjoyed your weekend and are having a great Monday.♥

That would be so much fun. I've tried and tried to get turtles I've found on the road to live here but they don't like us. We do have a lizard, a frog and ..... a snake....YIKES! Hope your 4th was a good one. Marilyn

Good morning Darlene, i can't believe I missed two of your posts. My brother ans sil visiting kept us pretty busy and I had posted ahead. My grands have a Wii and they love it. Fun exercise among many other things.

Your flag is awesome and the poem is so meaningful. I get so emotional when it comes to being a loyal American. There are so many who would destroy our way of life. I think our government is on the wrong track completely. It is scary.

The turtle is so much fun. My husband would love to have a turtle reside in our yard. When our children were young Bill joined the YMCA Indian guides and princesses and they called themselves the 'Turtle Clan.' It was many years of fun with dad time. You might guess turtles hold great honor in this family. Smile.

I hope you had a wonderful fourth.

Hugs, Jeanne

Wonderful the turtle has decided to spend the summer with you all again.

Even better is the fact that Lucy has accepted him as part of the family and no barking.

Enjoy the week!

Hi Darlene
Oh how neat is that? You will have to name him...Howard or something...*g*. Lucy must think the turtle is just one of the "pet kids" and its good she doesn't bother with it.
That is so cute. He must feel very safe there..
have a great day!

Mr. Turtle is SO cute, and I love that shot of him on your "Wipe Your Paws" mat, Darlene! LOL!

Is there a little pool of water of some sort of dish in the yard? I wonder what he drinks? I always worry about turtles. I used to stop and move them off the road until Mr. Magpie tried it one day and it was a snapper. It lunged at him! I can laugh now because he jumped straight up in the air. He was nudging it with the umbrella, when it attacked. Thank GOODNESS it didn't bite him! It looked like something out of a comic strip when a character jumps straight up. LOL!

Yours, however, looks like a very nice chap!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Oh how much fun! I think it'd be great to be in the backyard and having a little turtle that runs {well walks slowly} around!

Happy 4th to You!

This is the coolest thing! I love this turtle. I had little turtles as pets when I was growing up and it is the best memory. This is such a sweet post.

I hope that you are having a wonderful holiday...our Son surprised us yesterday...he is HOME!!!

Smiles ~ Ramona

Just about every other year we see a turtle in our yard. I don't know where it comes from, but I know it is the same one because it has a white stripe painted on its back.

take care,
Dawn

What a cute turtle. My uncle used to want a turtle for a pet, but that didn't work out too well (he snuck the turtle into his parents home and his parents thought the turtle was an intruder! hehe)

How cute! We had a turtle hanging around our pond a few years ago. I rigged up some rocks so he could sunbath and bought turtle food, but he left us :o( Maybe he felt we were getting too attached! Hope your little guy (girl?) hangs around for a while.

Better to have a turtle than squirrels. The turtle looks like fun to watch but here we watch squirrel eat up our garden.

Hi Darlene
How lucky are you to have your own backyard turtle :-) I love turtles! Sounds like he has found a nice shady spot to nap. Boy is it ever hot here - another scorcher. Ernie isn't having walks until late at night and even then it's too muggy to be out for more than 10-15 min. Stay cool ♥

How CUTE!!! I loved that little photo. : )
Looks like Lexi is having another fabulous Summer. How wonderful that your community offers the kiddos so many opportunities. Just think of all the stories she will have to share with her own children some day (and photos too!) : )
Take care,
Mary Lou

Hey Darlene
I've been meaning to get back to you! We have had a roller coaster ride with our little doggy this last couple of weeks. In fact he was supposed to be put to sleep yesterday (I bawled all day) BUT my dad prayed for him and the vet couldn't believe his recovery~The assistant was so excited she called me (Ronnie and Dad took Paco in/I couldn't do it) and told me she didn't want me fretting so she called to say Paco was safe! :)
Anyhoooo-
Tell Lexi if Taylor did come to my house I would talk her into seeing Lexi!

Hope you are having a great week,

Robin~♥

Awhh all the company you have been having is pretty entertaining if I say so myself. I saw your mama and baby family looking for water but could not comment so i came here to also post about that.

How neat to see those but also I would be scared of rabies those critters sometimes carry. You would not think they would with how cute they look.

Love your flag post and poem.
